We are staying at the Del Sol this weekend and someone just told me that we can't leave our car there on the day we check out. We are checking out at 11 but we planned to be in the park till around 3. The parks open at 10 that day. Do you know what time the parking structure opens? Do you think the Del Sol would have a cow if we parked there if the lot was not full since it is a Monday? I was not aware of this till I just read this other thread. I think that is really lame since check out is at 11 and we would only need to leave our care there till 3 but whatever. Anyway any help would be great.

What about any other parking in the area?

I rarely park at DLR parking, but it is my experience that they open the lots 30 minutes before the park opens. If it is an EE day, then it will be 30 minutes before that.

If you do this, here is what I recommend: send someone in your party over to DLR - or drop them off - to get in line at the gates and hold a spot while you park. If you park first and then make your way to the gates as a group, if it is around opening time the lines at the gates will be really long. If it is well after opening time, then it won't matter either way.

Here is an option you might consider. You could park in the Downtown Disney District parking. This is what it says on the Disney website:

"Your first three hours of parking are FREE. An additional two hours can be validated at AMC Theatres® and at table-service dining restaurants. After that, the cost is $6 for each additional hour, charged in 20-minute increments."

The fee for the parking structure I believe is $11.
Have a good trip!

Yeah see that is why I hate parking at the structure because it is always usually a half hour before the park opens and then you lose your edge for the line. That is the whole reason we got the hotel across the street. I think it is really lame that the Del Sol makes you leave when we just paid to stay there for 4 nights. Espe when we are going to be gone by 3 anyway. What do you think about the surrounding area? I mean it won't be the weekend or anything. Do you think there will be any parking around any of the restaurants or anything like Dennys or Ihop? I mean obviously I don't want to get towed but it seems like it might not be that busy of a day since the park has really short hours that day. Man this sucks I wish I had known that before I booked that hotel. That stinks!

When you check in ask them if you can leave your car in their lot until 3 on your check out day. We've stayed at the Tropicana and BWPPI and they've let us keep our car in the lot until we leave in the afternoon. It's worth asking. Otherwise, leave it until the time the pass indicates, walk back to the hotel and then repark. ie, the Tropicana pass says it's good until 12 pm, so at 11:30 one of you walks back to the hotel, you park in the DTD parking area and you've got 3 free hours. That should fit just about right for your departure time. :)

Cool that works! Thanks for the tip! You are right, check out has to be at least 11 so they can kick us out till at least then right? So if we left it till 11 then dh could run back over and move it to DTD and that would give us till at least 2 and then even if we had to pay for an hour it would be no biggie. It's better than 11 bucks and it saves us from missing the opening. Plus that is probably when we will take a break to eat some lunch anyway.

Thanks! :)
