How much does it cost to park at DL? Our hotel is 2 miles away and if their free shuttle doesn't work out we'll be driving. Also is there one central parking lot for DL and DCA? If not any tips on best place to park?

Thanks!

<font color=navy>I believe parking is now $8 at the parking structure. From there, you take the tram, and it will let you off at a central point for both DL, DCA, and Downtown Disney. I would use the tram to also visit the Grand Californian. However, I would just walk to the DL Hotel from the parking structure.

Downtown Disney has free parking for the first three hours. You can get your parking ticket validated at any of the restaurants and the AMC theaters for a total of 2 additional hours, for 5 hours total. After that, parking is $2 for 20 minutes, or $6 an hour.

Thanks Mary Jo! I should have included this in my original post, but we have a handicapped parking pass so would we still park in this same place as far as you know? Would my DD have a shorter distance to walk if we drive our own car and park in a handicapped spot or if we take the shuttle and get dropped off?

Thanks again!

How much is it to park if you are staying at the PP? Do they have a "lot" there? Discounts for guests staying at that hotel?

If you have a package deal at the hotels, parking is included. If you have room only, then you're charged $7 for parking, daily newspaper .... If you're not staying at the hotel, you'll be directed to the Downtown Disney parking or the Mickey & Friends parking structure.

There is handicapped parking at the structure that is considerably closer to the trams. If you must go on the upper levels (I don't know if they'll just keep you on the first level, or if you'll go to an upper level, there are elevators to take you down. The parking structure is 6 stories high & as big as 4 football fields -- pretty big.

It seems to me that it would be shorter for your daughter if you use the hotel shuttle. The distance to the shuttle drop offs and the trams to the parking structure are about the same. From the tram, you then need to get to your car. At the shuttle drop off, you just get on, and then you're dropped off near your hotel.

Do you know if the hotel has its own shuttle, or if you'll be using the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART)? Keep in mind that if you're using ART, you'll be charged $2/day, or $5/for entire stay per adult if you include that in your package when you book (at least, Dreams Unlimited Travel will get one for you when you book if you need it).

<font color=navy>Snobrdgrl321, there is a parking lot right behind & next to the Paradise Pier Hotel.

Thanks for the great info! I believe our hotel has its own shuttle because it said something about scheduling times for it when we check in. I just don't know if that scheduling times in advance is going to work so we might want to drive. But the shuttle being free is definitely an advantage. But I don't know if the step up into the shuttle will be too high/difficult for DD to get in and out. So as you can see I'm going back and forth, back and forth with these options in my mind!!!

Thanks so much!!!

If you drive and go to the Mickey and Friends parking area, when you get directed to the Handicapped parking, ask the Cast Member who directs you to turn left if you can park outside. It is MUCH CLOSER to the tram if you park as close to the tram area as possible outside. I do this as often as I can as I am partially handicapped and it makes for a much easier walk to the tram!

And yes, parking is $8 per day. If you have a larger vehicle it could be more but I park my extended cab truck all the time for the regular price
