We will be arriving in Orlando several hours before our timeshare will be ready, and I'm thinking we'd like to go on into USF/IOA soon after we arrive. I drive a large SUV with an open back - no cover to hide luggage and stuff. It does have dark tinted windows in back, but it will be obvious that there is luggage there. We'll be doing something similar on our last day, checking out and probably heading to one of the parks until early afternoon before hitting the interstate.

It would certainly save time not to have to unload into storage and then lug things back to the condo, or to move things from the condo to storage and have to go back to get them before heading out. But I don't want to encourage any break-ins either. We'll have a laptop and clothes, the boys' DSs, maybe a portable dvd player.

Is this an issue with parking at the parking garages?

I don't think so. Just do the standard stuff like keeping the valuables out of sight and you should be fine.

Bring a dark blanket or sheet to cover the stuff in back. We do this at the onsite hotels if our room is not ready and on check out day. We just take our valuables and put them in a back pack to take with us. :thumbsup2

The dark blanket trick sounds good to me. I can put the laptop in a locker while we're in the parks.

Thanks!

Just make sure all your bags are as level as can be. Then use a dark sheet or moving blanket. With the tinted windows it's hard to notice walking by. We used to do this with our minivan.

I know at the onsite hotels there is always security guys riding around the parking lot and resort on bicycles. There is also cameras around too. Should be the same in the garages.

I have seen security in the garages on golfcarts and they do have cameras everywhere. You should be fine just covering it up where it dont draw attention.

Come to think of it,I've been on these boards since '08 and never heard of any problems of break-ins yet.Well unless it got filtered out.
