Hi,
We have made reservations at RPR and we know that you get free parking at the park with an AP, but does this also apply to the resorts?

Thanks!

No free parking at the hotels for AP holders. :sad2:

Thanks for your response! We were hoping to get free parking!

Since AP holders get free parking in the US/IOA garage, can you just leave your car there overnight instead of parking in the hotel lot to save the $10 fee?

You could be towed.

Thanks MotherFletcher. I figured that would be the result, but needed it confirmed so I could put the debate to rest.

Unless they changed it, it does not matter if you actually have a car or not you still get charged the parking fee. I have been before without a car and had to pay the parking fee and people use to complain about that all the time.

We just got back from RPR, and when we checked in, they asked if we had a car. We said no (we were dropped off by towncar), and were not charged. If you were charged for parking without a car, I would complain to the hotel manager. $10 a day adds up!

In 3 yrs. of arriving at RPR without a car, we have never been charged any kind of parking fee.

I have not been charged for parking when we didnt have a car.

That would be crazy to charge everyone the parking fee even if they don't have a car. If it happened to me, you better believe I would be down at the front desk asking questions. That would be the same as charging everyone the deposit for pets even if you don't have one.

A co worker of mine that went last weekend did this. He went every day to move the car to a different spot. I thought he was crazy. If he had been towed it would have been more than the 3 days parking. But I do hate paying to park.

Hello. We just got back last week. We had a car and paid the $10+tax parking fee per night on our bill. BUT, was NOT pleased that on Friday and Saturday night, we couldn't USE our car because if we left, we would have had NO PLACE to park upon returning!!! There were 2 dozen cars circulating the lot trying to find a place to park at 8:00pm when we were about to leave. We noticed and stayed put. At 10pm we went back out to see if the full parking lot situation was temporary and NOT!! When we talked to the valets who control the lots, they said that it is always full on the weekend, but we could "valet park." They tie up a big chunk of the close lots for valet parking. When we talked to someone inside the hotel, they said they should have a sign up directing to additional parking. Well, we walked ALL the way around the resort looking for this "additional" parking. It doesn't exist. The extra parking lot is valet. The street parking by the luau is full, the lot back by the docks was full and the lot by the meeting rooms is valet (plus those end doors close at 10pm). On Mother's Day weekend, there was not enough self parking, so be prepared in case that happens to be the case other weekends, as well. There were cars parked at the end of row islands...anywhere you could squeeze a car. Of course, by Monday the lot was near empty.

We are planning on staying at one of the univeral resorts this summer. It just seems wrong to charge $10 a day for parking when staying at the resort. :( And then to not have enough spaces for on the weekends. :sad2:
