Hi all,

This will be my first time driving and have questions regarding parking:
1) If driving to MK and have breakfast at the Contemporary, do I park my car at the TTC and take the monorail to the Contemporary and leave my car at the TTC (to spend the whole day at MK)?
2) On our departure day we are going to HS. Do you think it's a good idea to leave the car at the resort to go to HS (with the skyliner) and then come back to resort to drive home or just take the car to HS and drive home from there?

Thank you!!

Why take the skyliner to HS on check out day rather than driving? I would much rather leave the park, get in my car and go rather than having to skyliner back to the resort, then get going.

Considering that the OP is driving, more than likely there is no rush to catch a flight or leave by a certain time.. Also, taking the Skyliner would mitigate running into any delays with traffic, parking, etc. especially if the OP is trying to RD or trying to arrive early in the day. Also, IMHO, I would rather leave my personal belongings/luggage inside a parked car at the resort, perhaps under a tree or shaded area, versus a busy theme park parking lot with no shade.

We always drive down and we always leave our car at the resort on leave day. It just seems easier to us to go back to the resort then to leave from a park. In all fairness, we actually park our car when we get there and never get back in it again until we leave, we use Disney transportation for everything else. For example: if we were eating at CR and the buses were not running yet, we would Uber over instead of driving and parking. If the buses were running, we would bus to MK and walk to CR.

Personally I’d drive to hs and leave from there. You could potentially get stuck in a situation where it starts pouring and the skyliner gets shut down, you can’t get back.
They run buses if the Skyliner goes down for any extended period of time. That said, how quickly they mobilize those buses might not be ideal if you’re trying to leave at a particular time.

Not true. If this happens they will run buses, there is always an alternative.

They will run buses, how many buses they run or how often is a variable. If it's going to be close to park closing you could be there hours waiting for enough buses to clear out. While it's better at HS than it is at EPCOT, it could still take a long time, especially if all three Skyliner routes are down and not just the CBR-HS line.
