Parking fees for hotel guests?

Loews Santa Monica certainly did. $30.00 per night for Valet as there was no self-parking. But the area was very space limited and I didn't mind paying for underground, secure parking for the neighborhood.

The Anaheim Marriott was a joke though. $25.00 per night for a HUGE parking lot that they even used as a pay-lot for the convention center during the day @ $15.00 per day.

Paying for parking at the nicer hotels is pretty standard anywhere you go these days.

And don't think that Disney doesn't factor in parking into their resort rates. I personally like the way Loews does it. You pay if you have a car, you don't pay if you don't.

Yes! ITA! They just make you think it's "free." For what they charge for DVC, it's the least they could do for their members.:rolleyes1
We also paid something like $15-20/nt. at the Fallsview Embassy Suites in Niagara Falls, ON. I'm sure it turned out to be more than that with the poor exchange rate of the US$. Oh well, it was still a great trip.:goodvibes
Wouldn't stop me from going back.

We just got back from Labor Day weekend at HRH and the valet parking was $17/day!! I already wrote a letter of complaint to them about it. I think this is outrageous and at that resort in particular, where you have to walk up a hill / long driveway from self-park and this is not feasible on rainy days, really hot days or if the driver is elderly. Not very family friendly if you ask me.

You're already paying a lot to stay there, and it's an ORLANDO hotel, not a city hotel where space is at a premium....they have the space for parking or to expand parking if they want to- so all parking charges should be lowered! It's a tourist destination - you have to park there - and they're taking advantage of that.

Disney's parking charges are much more reasonable!

I think they should waive the parking fee for APH's.
You'll be spending lots of money there anyway. I doubt it will ever happen cuz just look at all of us still willing to pay.
We did consider not renting a car but it's nice to have the freedom.

But their deluxe hotel fees are much higher. If you add the valet cost into the price of the Universal hotel, you still come out cheaper than at the Disney deluxes! We've done the dollar by dollar comparisons here and you still come out ahead by at least $30 a night by staying at Universal. If we just look for this Wednesday this week...Contemporary is $395, GF is $379, Poly $329, BC $315, ...Portofino $269, Hard Rock $239, Royal Pacific $209 and the Poly is nowhere near as nice as the Portofino. Disney charges $10 for valet...Universal $17. So, basically, the Poly is charging you $53 more than the Portofino and you can't walk to the parks or get unlimited fast passes!!! GF is charging you $83 more! Now, which is the better deal? I don't think parking is really the issue here. Universal, even with their higher prices for parking, still comes out way ahead in value. Maybe a letter to Disney asking how they can charge so much more than Universal for their hotels would be a good idea!

If you have a handicapped permit, valet parking is free at the hotels.
