Hi All,

What are the self parking/valet fees for HRH? Is it possible to leave the car in front, unload, check in and then self park? Is the self park far?

I am spoiled by DVC with free valet parking! I am assuming that I'll have to pay at Universal?

Just returned from a 10 day stay. HRH and PBH.
HRH is charging $12. per day for self parking.........and its tough to find a spot!
Portifino is already charging the "new" rate of $15. per day !!!! OUCH !!!
I never had to pay for parking as we only used a few HERTZ rental cars during our stay that were either picked up or returned at PBH.
Good luck........Syndrome

We have had five stays on property and my husband drops me off in the front with the bags. He self-parks and meets me at check-in. We have never been charged for parking- not sure why.

When you make a one day ressie do they charge you parking in the deposit amount or separately? I just got my rate adjusted so now I'm overpaid and was wondering if they'll refund me the difference or pay the parking out of it if it wasn't included in the deposit which is the entire bill for a one night stay.

I paid $16 per night to valet park at RPR a few weeks ago. Well worth every penny - I love valet parking!!!

fyi, if you have a HC parking tag/placard, they waive the daily self-park fee (nice guesture imo).

Really? Does that hold true for all the hotels? My DH has a handicapped tag. Do you just tell them when you check-in so they waive it? What do you have to do?

not sure about HRH & PBR - i assume it's a Lowes policy:confused3 , just tell them when you register so they can remove it from your bill.

As for non-guests self parking at the hotels, don't see a price advantage:confused: over the garage. you do have to pass a guardbooth, assume they'd ask questions. Know security was checking IDs on path back to RPR mid afternoon everyday when i was there.

What stops non-guests from self parking? :confused3

You need the attendant to let you in and out of the parking lot or a hotel key. If you are eating at the restaurants, you need to park there.

We valeted at HRH over the weekend, and it was $18 plus tax. The parking tax is 6.5%, so really it's $19.17 per day. Plus tip of course. We tipped pretty generously, because the HRH valets were some of the nicest people we encountered. And since it was 95 degrees the whole time, they really had a tough job.

On the times we have used valet for our day of arrival (one day) we have never been charged for self park for the remainder of our stay.

The car park charges are extortionate but think of it this way, at least Loews are open with the pricing. Other resorts may include it in your room rate.

I read earlier that if you have a handicap tag you don't get charged the parking fee. If this is true, what do I need to do to make sure we're not charged? Is it a separate lot? My DH has one and we'll be staying at RPR.

Off topic a bit, but hoping someone can answer...
Having dinner at Tshoup Chop and then walking over to Halloween Horror Nights. CAn I just leave the car in the restaurant lot, knowing that it'll be after midnight before I pick it up?
Of course, I'll ask when I go in, but if anyone knows the layout and can tell me now, I'd appreciate it!:goodvibes

I remember when self park was free and valet was $6.00.I dont like the idea of them making you pay for self park and it's hard to believe that the voice of the people has not said anything or is not heard.I valet the first night on my last trip and self parked the rest of the time but I had concierge wave my parking fee.I take care of the concierge floor managers and staff so it becomes a wash but I still dont like the idea of being charged for self park.Any trip I have made to the HRH they kind of make it hard to drop bags without them but I have 3 daughters so they are not going to pick up a bag and walk with it:rotfl2: so i have them bring up the bags and park the truck. Most of my trips they get to the resort before me since they drive and I fly.

I think all the Loews hotels charge for parking.

Loews Santa Monica certainly did. $30.00 per night for Valet as there was no self-parking. But the area was very space limited and I didn't mind paying for underground, secure parking for the neighborhood.

The Anaheim Marriott was a joke though. $25.00 per night for a HUGE parking lot that they even used as a pay-lot for the convention center during the day @ $15.00 per day.

Paying for parking at the nicer hotels is pretty standard anywhere you go these days.

And don't think that Disney doesn't factor in parking into their resort rates. I personally like the way Loews does it. You pay if you have a car, you don't pay if you don't.

We recently (last week) paid $12 per night to self park at HRH but, the guard never stopped us (just raised the gate when we pulled in) and waved us through w/o checking our card when leaving.

parking for the loews hotels are cheap.

stay downtown chicago in a nice hotel and you will pay $40 to 45 a night for parking.
