Hi,

We are staying at AKL checking in on May 21. We have decided to drive down early and plan to go to the park on May 21. Can we park at the resort when we arrive (8am) free even if we don't actually check into the hotel until after lunch? :confused3 We want to hit the parks right away. Thanks! Or can we drive directly to the parks and park or would we have to pay for the first day? :confused3

We've been able to park (and check in early) at AOA, POP, Music, Sports, and Movies just fine. We haven't stayed at the AKL, so I'm not sure if that particular resort has a different set of rules or not, but I can't see them turning you away at the gate when your check-in is scheduled for that day.

I thought someone here commented that all the parking data is on the MB now. Someone will be here to chime-in on the current status. :earsboy:

We used our MBs to park the morning before our check-in at the park and there was no charge. We were staying at the AKL.

This is good to know! I will be arriving Monday evening and would like to go straight to MK to get a few rides in and catch the fireworks. It would be great to be able to go straight to the park.

Using the MB for parking has already been covered, but note that you can check in at your resort as early as 6am. Most likely, your room won't be available but you can check in that early and leave your luggage with bell services which IMHO, is safer than leaving it locked in your vehicle at a theme park lot.

As long as you have completed the on-line check-in, you can use your MB to park at the parks. You will get a text message with your room number when it is ready. There's no need to go to the front desk at all.

Absolutely true, but there is still the issue of luggage in the vehicle at the theme park lot. That's something I would personally want to avoid.

I'd avoid leaving luggage in car too. I've read about car break ins. And those lots are so big, chances are no one would see.

Yes but there is no reason to not do the checkin process when you get there. Either take the family or have one adult go in and do it. If by chance a room is ready take your bags there. Or just leave bags with bell services.

Official checkin time is 3 or 4 but like with many hotels you can do the process earlier than that and get all squared away.

So we can leave our bags with bell services and they'll take them to the rooms when they are ready? Do we tip with bag drop off?

Thanks!!!!!

If you leave them with Bell Services, you have to call down and ask them to deliver them, once you are in your room. They don't take them automatically to an empty room. Yes you should tip $1 - $2/bag

Worst case scenario if the mb doesn't work for parking, you can pay and then show your receipt when you check in - they'll reimburse you. We've done that a few times.

I don't leave bags in the car not for this reason but for another one we found out the hard way. If you don't park the car the right way, and your deodorant or lotion or face cream or shaving cream gets hot, well, um, you will need to do laundry. We now pack all these items on the back side of the luggage so our clothes take the heat during the drive.

:scared1: That's not good!!!

Yeah, my husband has now said that "we don't need to cook the bags today". I think every family should go through what we did because you learn very quickly!
