We have breakfast ressies at Y and B Club. We have ressies for dinner at Le Cellier. We thought we would take the car to Y and B , eat breakfast and then walk the back way into Epcot. Can we do this and leave the car at Y and B Club for the day? We would stay eat dinner and then walk back and leave. It will be Christmas time if that makes a difference. I posted on the resorts board and was told to post here but the answers were pretty much you are given 3 hours. What do they do if you stay longer? I think we will probably have to eat and then MIL, SIL, DD15, DD3 and DS will wlak to Epcot and go in the back way and have DH drive the car to EPCOT and meet us. DS is in a wheelchair so there is no sense in loading and unloading him twice as it is a time consuming process.

Technically, you are only supposed to park at the resort if you are eating there. Hence the 3 hr. thing. You might want to consider parking at Boardwalk...it seems that there is more leniency over there since they have all the boardwalk activities, and I'm sure a lot of people drive their cars to go to them. Will anyone say something to you if you park at YC/BC? Probably not. Or you could just have your dh move the car, and then meet up with you in Epcot. That may realistically be the better choice and leave you less open to any kind of negative impacts.

I'll bite and be the bad guy. Parking at the resorts is for the people staying at the resorts and people eating at the resorts, for the length of their meal. Hence the 3 hour permit. If they didn't give out permits, everyone would be doing what you are wanting to do and, especially during Xmas, people paying to stay at those resorts could possibly have no place to park.

Aside from having one person drive the car to Epcot and meet the rest of your party, you could valet park your car at the Y&B. I think with valet, there is no time limit, especially since you are paying for the privilege. If you really want to not move your car, you could valet park.

Otherwise, I'd just move the car. You probably are about equidistant from the Epcot lot as from the Yacht or Beach Lot when you are at Le Cellier.

ETA: goofy4tink mentioned no one will say anything...I think during Xmas week they will be more vigilant on the parking permit. I haven't seen this at the Y&B yet, but I have seen cars being towed at the Polynesian when the permits have expired. I wouldn't want to deal with that on my vacation.

WHere are the folks who are staying at Y&B clubs supposed to park if folks take advantage of the lot and park there to avoid having to drive to Epcot. If you like the convenience why not stay there?

It will still take you 20-30 minutes to walk to Epcot, and when you are ready to go home, it still is a long walk, after you've been walking all day.

There is for sure more vigilance during the holiday times. As someone suggested you might try the Boardwalk. Also the idea of someone else going to drive the car to Epcot is a great one. You'll be right up next to the front with a wheelchair, so that would be great! I just got back from staying at the Dolphin for a week which is about as long of a walk as Y and B, and let me tell you there were days when we took the bus back to the resort we were so tired. We took a bus from the TTC to MGM and then MGM to the Dolphin...talk about lazy and tired!

YIKES that is why I asked. I was just wondering if you were allowed to do this. I now know that you cannot and we will move the car or I will check into the Valet.
Havencruiser I am not staying at the Y and B Club because we are staying at POR this trip. In the past we have stayed at the Poly, the Y and B and the Dolphin. This time we chose POR for the $. To tell you the truth no one resort is convient for us with the van adn the wheelchair. One is better for us to go to MGM one is better for Epcot, one is better for MK etc. I asked this because at our last stay at the Poly we saw many people park and some parked and then hopped on the monorail. I never thought anything about it. I never had trouble finding a parking space. That is why I specifically said it would be Christmas time to see if becasue it was a busy time it would not be allowed.
We had thought this idea would be easier that loading DS chair in and out of the van 4 times it is not an easy thing to do with a 115 child and no lift or ramp like our van at home. We will park at the Y and B and then have DH move the car or check into valet...no problem. I thank everyone for the information and for those of you who answered my question....I was not planning on "taking advantage" of anyone parking privilages that is why I asked if it was permitted or not.....it was a question. I asked it in 2 places and got pretty much the same info. Thank you very much for all the information. Zulaya, no bad guy. I appreciate you explaining why. DAKTOLCMM lazy? no, after eating at Le Cellier I don't even want to walk a step I would like to put my head down and sleep in the cave!!! I know what you mean!!Goofy4 tink and Ohmari thank you for your info about the Boardwalk. I never even thought of the Boardwalk parking places.

I think even at Christmastime you can valet park for the day but I would not try to visitor park for more than 3 hours. We ended up doing this at the GF and we were just there for an early morning visit to the MK then a late morning breakfast at Park Faire. Valet parking is relatively cheap, and very very convenient.

BTW a few weeks ago I parked "for free" at the Beach Club. Their lot was mostly empty and they were not giving out 3 hour permits or checking.

You could pay for valet parking (it's $7) and you can park there with no time limit.

We ate dinner at 1900 Park Fare last Tuesday. We called the valet desk ahead of time and specifically asked what our time limit was, and we were told "unlimited." Our plan was to eat dinner, and hopefully go to the MK if it stopped raining.

We parked the car at 5:45pm and didn't retreive it until 9:45pm, but never made it to MK.

I'd say if you want to do what you mentioned, do the valet and you won't have any problems.

Good luck!

It can't be more than a 10 minute walk from the Beach Club lobby to the World Showcase entrance. Probably faster than that.

Very very true. It is really not a long walk at all.
