Parking at Toy Story lot?

So, everytime I have been to DL, we've always gone for a few days and stayed at hotels so I've never really paid attention to parking. Now that I have an AP, I kind of realized that I need to update myself on the parking...haha.

So I am planning on going tomorrow night around 5PM. I will be coming from where CHOC and St. Joseph hospitals are in Orange.

Since it will be rush hour, my plan is to just take surface roads since it is so close. I was planning on going West on Chapman to Harbor Blvd and making a right on Harbor. That would take me right to the Toy Story parking lot. Should I be okay with parking in that lot between 5 and 5:30PM? Do you feel safe with using that parking lot instead of the main Mickey and Friends parking structure? I am going by myself and plan on staying until probably around 8PM or so.

Do you think that coming from the South on Harbor, Toy Story is my best option for parking?

The toy story parking lot is just as safe as the mickey and friends garage. there are alot
of parking employees and park guest's around.

Toy Story is my preferred lot of choice, especially when I come from work (orange as well, right off katella, so I take that straight down to harbor). I find that it's a lot less crowded, and while it's just a lot, I have never had any problems with security or getting a spot.

is it typically open every day in the offseason? (coming in early october). does it open at the same time as the garage? thanks

Yes every day of the year it along with the Mickey and Friends garage are the primary park parking lots. Everything else is secondary.

I'm not sure what is currently the case but before this Summer it opened about 30 minutes before the parks where as Mickey and Friends was opening 60-90 minutes to accomodate the offsite MM guests.

We always park at Toy Story now. Far less stressful. I've never waited more than 2 minutes for a bus.

If by "safe" you are asking about personal safety and security, I personally believe that a parking lot is safer than a parking garage. A lot is out in the open. Garages have lots of places where someone can hide and not be seen.

Not really worried why that would be a concern though. If you leave at 8pm during the summer, it's not dark yet. You are still in daylight hours.

If by "safe" you mean, "be able to Park there," you should be fine unless it has filled up, in which case there will be signs directing you to wherever they want you to Park (most likely M&F garage).

I park at both TS and M&F depending upon a variety of factors, fwiw.

I love Toy Story lot! It usually involves a lot less walking, a nice feeling bus, less temptation of DTD ( ;) ) and definitely more convenient in your situation!
