Parking at THV's

Staying there in August. I know there is only one spot to a villa. My question is has anyone had an issue with another villa taking more than one and how did you handle it ? I understand if your dropping off stuff or even for an hour or so during the day. I'm talking about taking the spots day after day. I'd hate to come back from a long day at the parks and then have to walk from the Grandstands. Thanks

Unfortunately, there are always those guests who don't think the rules apply to them. Every guest checking into the THV is told that they will have one parking space to use and any additional vehicles will need to be parked at the Grandstand. If you have a problem, that's when I would call the front desk (call center) and complain. And if you continue to have a problem, let MS know. They really should assign parking spaces at the THV by THV number.

Are the parking spots right in front of the treehouse or is there a lot in the treehouse section?

Spaces are in front of the Villa's but some are not real close.

The treehouses are placed in groups of 3-5 villas. One main path leads off of the road and then separate walkways branch off to each villa.

Beside that main path will be a group of 4 or 5 parking spaces. The spaces are not assigned to a specific villa. I assume this is because many areas do not have any overflow: 4 villas = 4 parking spaces. And during certain times of the day you may see a housekeeping cart or maintenance van in one of the spaces if workers are servicing a nearby villa.

When we stayed in the treehouses, I seem to recall one instance our series of spaces was full. We just grabbed a spot at the next nearest lot, which wasn't much more than 20 paces away. I'm thinking that maintenance was probably occupying at least one of our spaces then--we had a problem with our TV that took several hours to resolve.

Contacting the front desk is probably a sensible thing to do. Unfortunately front desk calls go to the remote call center so I doubt that would really accomplish anything. You would probably have to make a trip to the SSR front desk to discuss in person to have any real shot of intervention.

From a practical standpoint, I think the odds of all 4-5 spaces being occupied are pretty remote--even if one of the villa occupants does double-up. Chances are at least one of your immediate neighbors will not have a vehicle.

Other times your vehicle will already be occupying a spot when the offenders arrive with their dual vehicles. Seems equally remote to think you will always find yourself as the odd man (woman) out and nowhere to park.

This is what happened to us almost every evening when we returned to our THV. The small lot right across from our designated lot was practically always empty so we parked there. I was constantly nervous that we would be told to move from there but no one ever said anything.
