Just a quick question -

My husband and I are thinking about staying at one of the All-Star resorts, and my parents and younger siblings will be staying at the WL. Can we drive our rental car to the WL each day, and park it there for the day, in order to meet up with our family, or can you only park there if you are a WL guest? Is there any charge to park there?

Thanks!

Oh, and by the way, does anyone know if it is expected to be busy during 11/13 through 11/19? When I called for hotel reservations, the CM made it sound as though not a lot was available during our stay.

Thanks again!

I don't think you will have a problem parking at the WL, since you relatives will be staying there. They have more a problem with guests parking in the monorail and Epcot lots that stay elsewhere. Just when you go through the gate, have your parking pass from AS visable, and tell them you are going to meet your relatives. Then you can self park (if you valet park, it will cost you $6), and meet your relatives in the lobby and proceed from there to catch your transportation. Only if they give you a 3 hour pass will you have to rethink this, and you will know that the 1st time you try.

As for being busy while you are there, it is doubtful. The parks attendance should be low average to average. The reason that resort rooms are scarce is due to SoG being closed, and those guests rerouted to the North Wing of the Contemporary, with some guests overflowing into moderate resorts, and CBR will be closed at that time, which usually accomodates over 2000 guests, and they also have been placed in other accomodations.

Have a great time!

Have your relatives get two parking passes and give one to you. The security desk is only going to give you a 2 hour pass to park there. Your relatives should be able two if they have your liscense number. Good luck.

When we stayed at CSR my sisters step son who lives in florida decided to join us one day at Animal Kingdom Park. He parked in the lot at the resort and walked to the front desk and told them what his plans were and asked if he should meet us at the park itself and they told him it was perfectly alright to park where he was and ride the bus with us since we were paying guests. They even let him come to the building we were staying in and meet us at our rooms instead of waiting in the lobby. They did call the room to verify of course. I thought it was very nice of them to do since he wasn't a guest in any resort so I don't see why they would have a problem with your family who are actually staying onsite.

The moderates seem to have SO much more parking than the deluxes. When we stayed at WL the second week of Dec last year it was a relatively slow time. Yet, DH had the worst time getting parking at night:eek: ! Not sure what was up with that. Just do what they say you are allowed to, and you will be fine.

Valet park and pay the $6 that will render the 2 or 3 hour pass useless that they give you.

Not a big deal but valet is now $7/day.

The cost to park at the theme parks recently went up to $7/day, but this is the first I've heard that the cost of valet parking also increased. Wondering where you read this? Or were you recently charged $7 yourself?

Yes, I'm curious about this $7 valet parking too, because I valet parked at one of the resorts as recently as Sept. 3, and was still charged $6. So if it's gone up to $7, it's gone up sometime in the last 17 days...

The security desk is only going to give you a 2 hour pass to park there.

When did WL start giving out two hour passes? We've parked over there several times this year (to watch the water parade, eat, see the decorations), and once the guard saw our resort tag (POR, AllSars), he just waved us through. We even decided to leave from there and take a bus to another area.

The only time we got a 3 hour pass was March 19, 2001 at the Beach Club. We visited the Beach Club over New Years and this past July, and had no problem. :) We parked at many resorts this part July, were waved thru all the security gates (I wanted to visit a lot of the resorts to see if I'd really want to stay there).
