Parking at the Polynesia

If you have a handicapped placard or license plate, valet parking is free. If you have a DVC membership, then valet is free. That's what I do when I go to MK;I park at the Poly.

So what if you're staying at another resort (we will be at CSR) and are going to utilize the Neverland Club that is at the Poly? We're probably going to have our kids there for four hours (6-10). I was planning on just driving there to make it a quicker trip back to the resort at that late hour.

DVC members do not get free valet parking at resorts that do not have a DVC attached. The Polynesian is one that members do not get free valet parking. Plus, members are not supposed to use the free valet parking to visit the theme parks. It's only to be used to visit the resort to dine, pool hop (DVC members do have this privilege) or shop.

Currently free valet parking for DVC members is only permitted at BW, BC, WL, AKL. It hasn't been announced at CR yet.

We are staying at another Disney resort and are having a character breakfast "Lilo & Stitch" breakfast at polynesia resort. We are planning to park there for the breakfast. Would it safe to leave the car there while we visit the parks for a 1/2 day? Would it get towed?
Thanks

The only time you need to worry about being towed is when the "parking restrictions in effect" signs come out. They are placed at the front of the resort parking lot and are temporary. You generally see them during christmas and other ultra busy times.

The signs say that resort parking is limited to resort guests and those with an advanced dining reservation.

If they are not up and the parking lot isn't near capacity, then Disney will not tow cars out of the parking lot, becuase, frankly, they do not care that much to walk the parking lot and check every car every day. It's too time consuming and unnecessary if there are no parkinking issues.

Just tell the security guard at the Poly. He seriously won't care. He's the nicest man and reminds me of Barney from Andy Griffith. If you're going to Ohana, he'll always comment on the "good eatin' " :)

And that goes to say, if you're really that worried about your car being towed, tell the security guard. More than likely will just tell you to have a great day.

We are staying at the poly as a guest. Do they mail you a parking pass or give it to you at check-in.?? .Never drove to a resort before.
Thanks..

They give it to you at check-in. It's a printed piece of paper with your last name, the resort name, and your dates of stay on it, which you put in your windshield. It's good till the end of the day on your check-out day.

When you initially arrive at Poly to check in, you'll stop at the guard shack and tell the guard that you're checking in. He'll ask for ID and record your license plate, and direct you to check-in parking.

We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside but if we want to valet park at the Poly, do we go thru the guard booth and tell them we are going to use the valet parking? Does the guard give you something to put in your window in addition to the Riverside sign?

When you park at Poly, you will have to go through the guard shack to enter the resort. The guard at the shack may give you a 3-hour Poly parking pass - they sometimes don't give you one in the evening, or if you have a parking pass from another WDW resort already - and you can proceed into the parking area. Signs will direct you to either self-parking or valet.

if you really want to park at the Polynesian, you can pull up at the door of the main lodge, and have your car valet parked from there for about $12 (plus a couple $ tip when you pick it up.) when you pay to valet park, you can leave the car all day & evening for that rate - and no fear of towing. And you don't have any hiking to get from your car to the restaurant. When you're done eating, take the monorail to the MK...and when you're through with the park, ride the monorail back to the Poly, have them bring you the car and off you go with no parking lot hikes, no parking lot crowds. We've done this several times from both monorail resorts & Epcot resorts. The guys at valet parking say you can leave the car until well after the parks close, no additional charge.
Ooh, thank you for this info. I also wanted to go the Poly and just take the mrail to MK. This will work out great!:wizard:
