We are staying on property but think taking our car will be easier with the scooter and stuff. I've been on the parking lot trams tons of times and would have to assume that scooter do not go on there. We do not have a handicapped sticker or banner, so are we supposed to hike from whereever we end up parking at???

I would advise you to use Disney transportation if you do not have a handicapped placard. You will not be able to park in handicapped parking without it uinless you want to pay a ticket. $250 up tp $500

I agree with Lisa that you would probably be better off taking the WDW transportation. Almost all the busses have either a lift or a ramp to get ecvs/wheelchairs on the bus and tiedowns to safely transport them.

If you have enough time, you might be able to get a temporary handicapped parking permit from your state. Then you would be able to park in the handicapped parking. You are right that ecvs can't go on the tram. As Lisa mentioned, we have also been told that if you park in the handicapped area without a permit, you might be ticketed and fined. You might be able to park on the end of a row close to the entrance if you explain to the CM who is directing traffic that you have an ecv and need that parking.
