Parking at the Contemporary

I have a PS at Chef Mickey's and was wondering whether I could park at the Contemporary and benefit from leaving my car there and following our breakfast simply jump on the monorail to MK.

I've read this idea from the UK boards but was hoping that I could seek advice from others from here.

I am staying of site (the shame I know.... ) but as we are travelling with young DD were a looking at ways to keep things simple.

We did this the day we had breakfast at Chef Mickeys..... no problems parking there for the day....
however, we were staying On Site.. so I do not know if it is different when you stay onsite.
It was so convienient parking there and taking the monorail to the MK for the day!

When you go to Chef Mickey's they give you a two hour parking pass. You never know if they will remove your car or not. I read on these boards before about CM's or security not allowing the all day parking. When you really think about it, the parking is for the CR Hotel Guests anyway.

I think that the resorts give you a 3 hour parking pass if you are eating at one of their restaurants. However, I'm not sure if they actually walk around the parking lot checking to see how long you've been there.

As a frequent guest of CR, please do not do this. Parking at CR is NOT meant for the convenience of parking there and then going to MK all day. It's for it's guests and those visiting briefly to eat, shop and look around.

They will issue you a 3 hour pass. If it's a busy time like a holiday, they will be even more strict.

I've experienced more than once not being able to find a parking space and it was very frustrating.

People should park at the TTC and then take the monorail to their destination, IMHO.

Is it still possible to park at TTC and use the monorail for a PS at Chef Mickey's at 7am, I read that the TTC is not open until after 7am?

A Solution?

Park at Downtown Disney. Take the resort bus to the contemporary, and than ride the monorail into the parks. The disney buses never ever check to see where you're staying. You could even stay offsite and do this. You dont pay for parking, but it takes about 25 min. But still. Id rather spend the 7 dollarsi would spend on parking, on a drink or a souvenir. You can also do this if you'd like to resort hop.

Yes, this will be helpful to those who want to beat the system. It's no wonder it's always hard to find a space at Downtown Disney.

We stay at the contemporary - Love the place precisely for the reason you state here. It is very convenient if you are into doing MK or Epcot.

That being said... they will tow your car if you do not have a resort pass on your dashboard. Seen it more then once. Even precipitated it in one instance. I could not find a parking spot .... really hacked me off ... saw a couple of cars with no resort pass on the dash. Asked they be towed. First they check the license plate with the registered guest lists (you give them make/model/and license plate when you check in). Then they tow.

OK now that I said that - I think....I could be wrong.... but I think if you are doing one of the restaurants you can park valet (6 dollars US) and you can leave the car all day.

Well if its any consolation, when we are taking advantage of the system, It was difficult to find a parking space....
