I have a question...

I have a reservation at Kona Cafe early in the morning and then we're planning on heading to Magic Kingdom for the day. I will be driving my car to the Polynesian for this reservation. I'm wondering if we can leave our car at the resort for the day or if we have to drive back to our resort and take a bus to MK??

Technically no you are supposed to move it to the TTC parking lot. Now what they actually do it up to the CM on duty I suppose.

Just park your car at TTC lot and walk to the Poly for the reservation.
Then, leave the car at TTC for the day.

I didn't even think about parking at the TTC. I'm going to be honest here and tell you all that I've never, ever driven around WDW. Only had a car in property once and that was to evacuate for a hurricane.

Any other parking advice would be super helpful if there is anything to know!

Thank you guys!

The advice @Robo gives is even more on point since the resort monorail will soon be skipping the Poly due to it's refurb. Do keep you eye out that the Kona remains open, as of now there has been no word that it would close.

As for parking at the other parks, it's pretty straight forward. MK is the one with the farthest distance to the parking lot, the others are all much closer.

The first time we drove on Disney property many years ago, we found the signage VERY confusing. We had no idea that "Magic Kingdom Resort Area" was where our hotel was located. The actual names of the hotels (i.e. Polynesian, Floridian, Contemporary) don't show until AFTER you have already chosen the exit ramp. If you have GPS on your phone and program it for the Ticket/Trans Center is probably the best option for first-time visitors. I don't know if they have changed any of the road signs to be clearer, but they were NO help to us during our first visit. It appeared that signs are geared to frequent visitors who already know the overall layout of the property. A first time guest arriving by car and looking for their hotel will probably take the wrong exit until they understand the layout.

Might not be a bad idea to go online and print a general map that provides an overview of where each resort is in relation to the various parks.

My understanding is that the Polynesian is closed until the summer of 2021, are the restaurants open?

The DVC portion of the Poly is open, and from what I have read Kona, Captain Cooks, Tambu Lounge and the pool bar are open.
