Parking at resorts when you have an ADR

I called and asked the resort about valet parking, and they said you could park for as long as you wanted. I don't see why you couldn't, you're paying for it.

My point was that there aren't hordes of people hogging up valet. I don't know why anybody would have a problem with it if it's not hurting anyone. Disney's making money from the valet company, and the valet company is making money from me.

When you called, you probably got the call center. Lots of those people answering the phone aren't at the resort, might not even be in Orlando or Florida. They just guess at the answer sometimes.

If it isn't a problem, why are those signs posted at the entrance to the resort?

I would think that would be true for the self-park lots -- those are reserved for guests of the hotel. The valet parking has no such sign, and when I asked specifically about how long I could park, they assured me that I could stay as long as I wanted. If they don't care, why do you?

You were not talking to the resort; you were talking to a CM in a CCC. They may or my not be knowledgeable about all the ins and outs of the resort rules. They are not always well trained.

You will find that you will receive better info on the boards, especially long time posters

I think I got the best and final answer from the people working at the valet desks -- I'm sure they know their jobs better than random people on the internet. :)

Disney wants people to visit the resorts and parks and to spend money there. People using the valet are spending money to eat at the resort, and then spending MORE money by heading over to the park for a few hours in the evenings. That's the bottom line. Every single person working for Disney that I asked about valet parking for an ADR said that unlike the 3 hour limit for the self park, there was no such limit for a valet spot.

We asked this question directly at valet and directly at the front desk of BW area resorts, when we were trying to gather parking info options for our wedding guests to get to our Illuminations Dessert Party for our wedding. All CM's were very consistent in saying that valet parking at these resorts would be very appropriate for this situation-they could valet at any time and stay at Epcot as long as they choose. None of our guests were staying at these resorts. They specified that the regular resort lots were for hotel guests only or for a 3 hr window for people visiting the hotel, but valet was for everyone and not time-limited.
