Parking at Port vs Radisson

We have reservations the night before our March cruise at the Radisson and are currently booked on a shuttle and leaving the rental car at the Radisson. But now I'm having 2nd thoughts, maybe it's just easier to pay the $70 to part at the port that way the car is there and we don't need to worry about getting the shuttle back to the Radisson. Who has done which way and why?

Parking at the port is secure, guarded. Parking at the Raddison is, well, basically an open lot.

It is much easier to pay the money and drive yourself. That is coming from people who like to come and go as they please and not depend on others.

We did have a car but we stayed at the Radisson and took the shuttle. We got off the ship and waited maybe 5 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up. We were checked back into a suite before 8:30 a.m. the morning we got off the ship. So it is not really a big deal to take the shuttle.

i have been debating the same issue, i am thinking of just paying and parking since the car is right there and you can just go

We have done both. The quickest is to pay and park at the port. You retrieve your luggage, walk to your car and you are gone. If you park at the Raddsion you must wait for a shuttle which could be anywhere from 5 minutes to 1/2 hour depending on the line.

We also like to come and go as we please and minimize moving luggage around. Therefore we just pay to park at the port.

We grab a porter to help with our bags and he takes everything right to our car. Put the luggage in the car and we are off.

With hotel shuttles, everyone must claim their bags and carry to shuttle pickup area (might need a porter), wait for the shuttle, load luggage on the shuttle (or wait if the driver loads for you), drive to the hotel (very short trip here), wait to unload luggage from shuttle, get the car (or haul luggage to car), load the car, and then we are off.

For us the $70 is worth it.
