Parking at PHL

Hi Everyone,

I have done a search of this forum for information about parking at Philadelphia airport and came up with a lot of great suggestions but many were dated almost 1 year ago.

Can anyone provide me with recent reviews, suggestions, critiques, links! Thanks so much. We have never flown out of PHL before so your help is greatly appreciated!

I park in the remote lot under a light and near the guard shack. The shuttle comes around every 15 minutes or so to take you to the terminals.

We use Fasttrack on Essington Ave.
We used them in February and will use them again in September. Just looked it up and it is about $9.40 with taxes included per day.
Shuttle runs about every 5 minutes.

Still using Winner on Essington. They accept competetor's coupons, shuttle you to the airport in your own car (great if you have kids in carseats) and for an additional $10 you can drive away with your own car on return, and they will find their own way back.

Love them.

I use Winner airport parking. It is a valet service, so if you aren't willing to leave your keys with someone else, this service isn't for you. Personally, I love it and have used them about 10 times in 3 years. Here is a link to a listing for parking near PHL. Many of the links include discounts.

I too would be interested in recent reviews.

I like the sound of Winner, bc we will have alot of bags and it seems easier to just be dropped in our car; however I worry about what if the driver has an accident on the way back to the lot, talk about a vacation bummer. Don't really care about them having the keys.

I'm not too familiar with the philly airport area this is our first time flying out of there, how far is the lot from the airport?

Winner is only about 5 minutes from the airport. There are also several other services in Essington. I like Winner because it is the lowest price, I love, love, love, being able to leave right from the airport. Winner is insured, but you could have an accident on the way to the airport, as could any shuttle that you would take. That's just my opinion though.
I parked in the airport Economy lot once. We waited about 20 minutes for the shuttle, stopped a few more times. Got to the terminal about 30 minutes after we parked. Then waited again when returned to PHL. Plus, with a coupon for Winner, it was less than parking at the airport.
Winner also offers a van service, but then you would have to unload and reload the luggage.

I can recommend Preflight on Island Avenue in Philadelphia. We have always gotten picked up promptly (both ways) and have never had a problem (knock on wood). We will be there again for our trip later this week.

They have indoor and outdoor parking. There is also a coupon on the web site.http://www.preflightparking.com/PHL.aspx

FWIW, Philadelphia now imposes a 20% tax on airport parking. OUTRAGEOUS!

We have used Winner since the time we tried to park in the airport lot and it was full. We've never had a problem with Winner and like being able to leave from the airport. I know I read in the newspaper a few years that the airport was going to be adding more parking spots in the economy lot. Does anyone know if that actually happened?

I am not sure, but I know that the airport actually took some spots out of the economy lot recently for construction at the airport (I am not sure if it's runway construction or terminal).

We always use Preflight and have always been happy with them! Plus with the coupon, it is one of the cheapest options. They have a huge shuttle bus that pulls up right behind wherever you park, they load all your luggage onto the bus and unload all your stuff right at the terminal. It's very convenient!

I've used Winner enough times to get 3 free so far (every 10th use is free) in the last 5 or 6 years, I'm using them again in 2 weeks.

In the last year and a half or so the longest wait for them to pick me up after I called was just short of 30 minutes - Friday night of a holiday weekend, shortest wait calling from jet way (no checked bags) was about 10 minutes.

No worries here about what they will do to my car, they even take photos of it as you leave the lot due to people reporting unfounded claims. You don't even know their taking the photos unless you ask why you're stopping under the tarp on your way out of their lot.

1 time coming home in the rain to long term was enough for me, and work won't cover the garage unless the trip is under 72 hours.

Last use was 2 weeks ago, all went well. Winner is a winner for me .

We just got back and used Colonial Parking. We have always been happy with them in the past and have used them many times. This time, however the shuttles were slow (15+ minutes wait at 11:30 p.m. is too long). The price is decent - $8/day with the coupon.
