Parking at MK for Early Entry?

I have never used Early Entry before, but I'm considering it for a trip this fall. I recall reading somewhere that the only way to get to EE for the MK is to use Disney transportation, because you can't get from the TTC to the MK gates until normal opening time. Is this true? I just don't think I can face a bus ride!

Hi! We were not resort guests on our visit in May, but we had 8:30 reservations at CRT on an EE day. We parked at the TTC and used the monorail with no problem - everything was running when we arrived at around 8:00. Hope this helps! Have fun!

alvernon,

We usually go for the EE anytime we can. You can park at the TTC and take the monorail to MK. There is a CM at the gate before you go up the ramp to the monorail who checks to see if you have the on-site ticket that allows you to use EE. If you don't, you have to step aside and wait for the regular opening time. Hope this helps.

another alternative is to park and walk over to the Poly-I think this really works better as it is a resorts monorail stop which is open early. We had a tricky experience going into TTC one time.

Our experience was that you could take the monorail for early entry. The thing that I wasn't too joyous about was that the monorail doesn't start taking guests to the MK until 8:00 on the dot (or whatever time early entry starts). Therefore, you don't actually walk into the MK until 8:10-8:15. No big deal.....but I like the idea of running to space mountain AT 8:00 (or whenever EE starts). In the future, I will take the bus to MK EE because it will drop me off right outside of the MK gates.........even though I normally drive.

Unless you are a guest of the Poly, you are not allowed to park there. You will be questioned at the guard shack.

Pin,

The poster said park in the MK lot, and then walk to the Poly to hop the monorail.

Thanks for the idea. You just solved my MK EMH problem.

OMG! I had no idea we couldn't park at MK and enter at 7:30 a.m. Do you mean park at TTC and walk to the Poly? How far of a walk is it? Monorail or Boat from the Poly? Would it be possible to park at the Contemporary and monorail it from there for a 7:30 entry?

Can't believe all I learn from these boards. Thanks to everyone.

what about getting to MK from WL for EE and for an 8:05 PS (not on EE day)? (oh my, look at all those abbreviations, LOL!)
Will the WL boat get us there early for both of those or should we drive? And if we do drive, will we be able to get the monorail on the non-EE day early enough to get to CRT on time? Thanks so much!! :)

Contemporary parking is for CR guests only(DH had trouble one night finding a place when we were staying there:rolleyes: ). They are cracking down on this problem. They won't allow you in there to park! EMH is 8:00, not 7:30.
When we stayed at WL and had a 8:05 ps we took the boat straight there. It got us about 7:40 and the 3 families had MK ps's so that is where we went. Otherwise we would have got off at the CR and walked over(much quicker than the monorail when going to MK). Perhaps we were lucky but we got to MK about 7:55. This was a non ee day(they were not offering it then). :D

I didn't know about the difference between the monorails. If the TTC monorail doesn't start running until 8:00, what time does the Poly monorail start running?

Actually, let me put that more directly: If we want to use the walk-to-the-Poly option and be at the turnstiles at 8:00, what time should we arrive in the parking lot?

We finally gave up trying to find a place and valet parked.

I'm not sure what time the resort mono's start running, but here's what we did for our MK EE at WL last month. We got to the WL dock around 7:15. We know that the MK boat first stops at FW first in the morning. There's been reports of boats filling up at FW and not taking on any passengers at WL first thing in the morning. The first MK boat wasn't scheduled to arrive at WL until around 7:30, but the smaller CR boat was running before that. It showed up at WL around 7:20. We left everyone else waiting at the WL for the MK boat and hopped the launch for CR to avoid a possibly full MK boat. We quickly were at the CR and were on the resort monorail at around 7:35. The monorails were running by that time. There wasn't hardly any line. We arrived at MK around 7:45 via the resort monorail.

So to partly answer your question, the resort monorails definitely start running at some time before 7:30.

You can park at the hotels if you are eatring there, so I would suggest that. The guard shack will give you a three hour pass, but you can pull into valet and park all day (you'll pay the same as the normal parking fee). If you are doing breakfast in the park, then just return to the hotel for lunch - all the monorail hotels have very good places for a liesurely lunch escape from the midday crowds.

It's best to make a priority seating for the meal at the hotel so you can give that to the guard if asked.

TTC to the Poly monorail stop is a ten minute walk at the most. Say-get to TTC at 730...

You can take the monorail from the TTC before 8am for EMH. The resort monorail stops at the TTC.
