DW says that there may be a charge for parking at MK during the Christmas Party even for AP holders. Is she correct? And if so, is the charge only for AP holders not staying on site, or do they also suddenly charge Resort guests?
And finally, if they do charge at MK, could we park at EPCOT, catch the monorail over and still be able to get back to EPCOT when the Christmas party ends?

I have never paid for parking when I went to the Christmas Party. I have an AP and I wasn't a resort guest.

Thanks Safetymom,
This post also had me concerned, it was all I could find about parking on the MVMCP Thread;

Quote:
If you have a Annual Pass, you can park at any of the parks for free.

If you are staying at one of the WDW Resorts, you can park free.

...Except for special events. But I have never tried parking for MVMCP. I wonder if you get there before the MVMCP starts, if you get to park free. Or maybe the reason that they let people in a 4:00 P.M., is to charge for separate parking. But I have never heard anyone talk about this. I would say to show up early.

Here is what AllEarsNet says on AP benefits and parking:

Quote:
Complimentary parking: AP/PAP holders are entitled to free parking at the MK, Epcot, MGM and AK parking lots. Florida Seasonal Passholders do not get this benefit. Free parking is not valid for special events requiring a separate admission charge or special events that are not open to the general public.

I've seen posts where AP Holders were charged to park for special events. I think it depends on the time you show up.

The Epcot monorail will stop running by 10:00 or 10:30.

We have gone the last 2 years to MVMCP and not been charged for parking. We are not staying onsite and we used our AP.

Two years ago, we were driving into the TTC to go to MVMCP. I believe it was 15 or so minutes before the party was to start. We were informed that our APs did not cover parking for the ticketed event.

We didn't have any cash at all, and the CM eventually, reluctantly waved us through.

If you get there early enough, they won't charge, but if you are driving in after park hours, they may ask for the fee.

Best to have the money ready anyway.

Ted
