Parking at Gatwick

We usually stay at the Hilton and get a package that includes parking - usually at Summer Special.

This year we have used Tesco vouchers for the hotel so cannot include parking. When I was looking around earlier this year I was getting quotes of around £55 for Summer Special - unfortunately I didn't book it then.

I have now come to book and the cheapest I can get is around £98 - again for Summer Special.

Anyone come across this before and has anyone any tips for cheaper parking.

Thanks.

Have you seen the "Maple Manor Parking - Meet & Greet" being offered by www.holidayextras.co.uk ? £79 for your dates. I have used "meet & greet" and love it (much more convenient), but haven't used the "Maple Manor Parking" one... maybe someone else here has?

Alternatively the BCP at LGW is available at LGW for £81.56 for your dates, but you may need to book and pay with American Express to get that deal (http://www.parkbcp.co.uk/index.aspx?ID1=WEB1619&ID2=11111&User=HYP&DIATA=).

Either any good?

You could also try baa.com/advance which claims to have the cheapest prices available on site. I had exactly the same problem - saw a cheap rate and didn't book it and it just kept going up. :sad2:

Thanks Alice.

Looks like its Maple Manor then although DH is a bit wary about Meet & Greet services after he saw a program where one company was using your car for all sorts.

Yes, I know what you mean - saw the same programme

We have used Meet & Greet a lot, but at Heathrow: since we don't live that far away, we don't stay overnight is we fly from Heathrow - "meet & greet" is a good way to avoid messing around with luggage... But our experience is with companies like CPS and Purple Parking Meet & Greet - both I would recommend (never had any trouble with them).

At Gatwick we always stay overnight before flying, so I always book a hotel/parking package or hotel/parking at the same time. Because we arrive the night before, I am not so worried about using "meet & greet" and we haven't done it at Gatwick yet.

Was hoping that someone else had experience of "Maple Manor" and could share with you...

There are some reviews about the service here - http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews105535.html . I THINK you should be ok on them NOT damaging your vehicle, but the reviews are mixed (but that isn't a surprise - everywhere gets bad reviews... people are more likely to post a bad review than a good review). We have sometimes waited 20 minutes for our car to be returned to us at Heathrow - sometimes traffic can hold them up getting the car back to the terminal. We have never had to wait more than 2 minutes for the car to be taken away though on the outbound journey. Since you are staying the night before, pick up is not so crucial for you (get them to pick it up the night before maybe?).

We used Tudor Rose (book on their website) it's a meet and greet service, we were really impressed with it, I think it was about 97.00 for 15 days in april/may.
