Parking at DVC Resorts

My DW and I are DVC members and are going on a Disney Cruise in a week. Unfortunately, the cruise took all of our points, but we are still staying in Orlando for a few days after the cruise to go to "the World."

We are staying offsite a couple of nights and I am curious about something. Would we be able to drive on the resort to the BoardWalk (or any other DVC resort,) show our Member ID card, park there, and ride the buses to the parks? We just don't want to have to pay for parking at the parks.

You are not supposed to park at the resorts for theme park access. If you also have Annual Passes, they include free park parking, just show your pass at the parking gate.
