Parking at Downtown Disney

We are looking to kill some time at Downtown Disney before we check in and my big concern is the parking. What are the best tips for parking there? Is it better to park at Port Orleans and take the boat? Any advice is appreciated.

If you get there early...before 10am, it should be fine. Anytime after 11 has been a mess.

I always park behind WOD, and never have a problem finding a space. I usually go early in the day on weekdays. I stay away on evenings and weekends.

I parked, without issue, right by Cirque (both in the early evening) twice when we were there two weeks ago. BUT, crowds were low and you're all the way on one end.

I agree - go ahead and check in first. You never know when your room will be ready. We've checked in first thing in the morning in the past and gotten our room right then! If your room is not ready, they'll still check you in (and send you a text when it is), and you can then leave your bags either with bell services or in the car at the resort, and hop a bus to Downtown Disney. Then you don't need to worry about parking at all!

We parked in that same lot. While driving from BWI to DTD the signs led us to that lot. Lots of parking there, and - it was a late afternoon on a crowded Sunday about two weeks ago!
