Parking at Disney resorts/parks

We are staying at the Poly and we will be renting a car for part of our trip.
If we have a car at the Poly, does Disney charge us for parking at the hotel and if we take the car to one of the parks one day, do we have to pay for parking at the parks? I'm thinking having a car in some place might be better than trying to do the buses at the end of the night with tired kids. Like at Animal Kingdom for example?

The answer to the other is there is no charge for parking at a WDW hotel.

No charge for self parking at the resort. Valet parking is $7 or $8 per day.

I agree that having having a car is the best way to go with small children for at least the end of a long day. Also if planing on dining at a different resort.

UHM Ed, whe does S/D stand for? (been here for awhile and that one stumped me!)

When you check in you will be given a parking pass. When you first arrive at the hotel, you'll likely come in through the MK parking-lot toll booth. Stay to the right and tell the kid at the gate you are checking into the Poly. Then follow just follow the signs.
