Parking at DFW

We've got an early flight out of DFW in early January for 10 days in the World. Any recommendations on the best parking site? What's the most convenient site, and how do the prices look? I've researched a little online but would prefer personal recommendations. If it makes a difference, we'll be driving to the airport from a hotel in Grapevine.

Thanks in advance! :)

Can't remember what its called (on-site remote) but it worked well for us, its inside the tollgates but not right at the terminal. Directed us in, shuttle picked us up at the parking space as we were pulling suitcases out of the trunk and on to the terminal. Equally as good on the homebound.

We wound up there somewhat by default, was going to park at the remote lot outside the tollgates but pulled up there to find it full (who would have figured on a weekend flight - midmorning) - so you might check the status of your desired lot before you head out.

Our cost was somewhat more than what we would have paid, I don't recall it being atrocious tho, but less than terminal parking (of course). There are also private providers. Our experience was on the south side too if that makes a difference......

I think we're going to use http://www.dfwparkair.com/index.html when we fly to WDW in December. They have covered parking, which is important to us due to the weather. I've seen these shuttle buses a lot. They also seem to have coupons a lot. We've been planning to check them out for a few weeks but never seem to get around to it. Hopefully we can get to it this weekend. Plus I believe that you can make reservations. There's nothing worse than showing up at the airport and driving around trying to find a space.

I'll try to remember to follow up once we've checked them out.

Covered Parking $8.00 (plus tax)
AAA Rate $7.00 (plus tax)

Thanks for the info!

DFWparkair looks great. We definitely don't want to be driving around looking for a place to park. Our flight leaves at 8:30 am, so it's going to be a VERY early start for us. I think we'll be pushing it with 2 little kids if we have to spend lots of time searching out the perfect spot.

We're not familiar with the DFW airport grounds at all so any information is a help to us. We're familiar with the DFW area...except for the airport. We've had lots of connecting flights through there, but nothing that originated there.

Thanks again. :)

We're frequent parkers at DFW and live real close. Here are the on-site rates:

Terminal/Gate parking: $16/day (and a hassle if you return to another terminal!)

Express: $9/day (inside the toll plaza, located both at both North and South entrances. North is often FULL.)

Remote: $6/day (outside toll plaza, located at both North and South entrances.)

I don't know about Remote, but Express points you directly which row to go down to park based on which terminal you fly out of. No wandering around trying to find a spot--you just go down the designated row until you find one.

Both Express and Remote operate frequent shuttles, just watch to make sure you get on the RIGHT bus! There are separate ones for Express and Remote, and separate ones for North and South--four different DFW parking buses! Easy to differentiate if you know to watch out for them.

We haven't used any of the off-site parking lots because we have to drive BY the airport to get to them. They are all North or East of the airport and we live due West.

We generally use Express South and have really good luck with them. One note if you have a Toll Tag--take it DOWN before you drive in/out of the toll plaza. I was charged $16/day for terminal parking once because the toll tag sensor "sensed" me while I had my ticket and credit card hanging out the window to pay for Express! I got it resolved, but it was a hassle.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tip Dale-n-Chip. I'll pass all this info along to DH, since he's the one stressing about parking at this point. Between your post at that of the JodyTG, it looks like we have both on- and offsite options covered here. I'm not sure which we'll use, because at this point all I know is it'll take about 15 minutes to get to the airport. We've never driven onto the airport before so it will be a lovely first time experience for us...before the sun comes up. Thanks again for the information. I appreciate it!

Your husband is really smart to be worried about parking. You should call him up and tell him how great he is.

I bet he'll go with Park Air Express because its on the north side of the airport, not too expensive, and they have covered parking.

Plus, it looks like you can reserve your spot in advance.

Of course he's smart, Goofmeister. Thanks why he married me. Better get back to work, though, so we can afford to go on this monster of a vacation! :rolleyes1

We have used The Parking Spot before. They have a lot on 114 on the North end and one on 183 on the South end. They have a shuttle that takes you to your gate. They have open and covered parking available. If you look up their website there should be a discount coupon. The last time we left our car there it cost about $7 a day.

We also use the Parking Spot and love it. When you return home they give each passenger a bottle of water - nice touch after a long trip. You can also reserve your spot in advance on their website and can chose covered or uncovered parking.

We highly reccomend them!

:)

Personally I would drop off one parent and the kids at the terminal with the luggage. Have that parent use curbside checkin. The other parent should go park and ride the shuttle from the remote lot. No sense in schlepping all that luggage and people on the bus!
