We have a 6:20 PS at Chef Mickeys for dinner and want to stay at the Contemporary to see the fireworks (at 8 PM) from the observation desk. We are staying offsite. How long can we leave the cars at Contemporary? I have heard 3 hours. Is this correct? Is that for before the PS or after?

Thanks for your help.

I think now that they guards at the gate of the premium resorts. Example - Polynesian, Yacht and Beach Club. I'm sure the Contemporary has one. Just say to them your PS with Chef Mickeys and they will give you a pass probably for three hours.

When we were there early December the pass we were given at the Contemporary had no time limit. The one at AKL was for 3 hours. I'm not sure why they were different.

The last I heard, they were restricting the observation decks up at the top to CA Grill guests only.

Yes, 3 hours is correct. It is 3 hours total. You can valet park and stay as long as you wish. I believe it is $6 or $7.

Also, if you are thinking of the observation deck off CA Grill, that is only available for dinner guest, now. They stopped allowing the general public access about a year ago. I believe you can watch from the 4th floor, or just walk outside on the resort grounds.

You won't be able to watch the fireworks from the Observation Deck unless you're eating at California Grill. You can, however, watch from the 4th floor lounge -- the music is piped in and they dim the lights. You're just inside instead of outside.

The three hour parking time begins when you enter the lot. You'll get a card for your dash that says what time you arrived, and the three hours is calculated from that.

On the fourth floor(Same floor Chef Mickeys is on) there is an observation Deck over near the gift shops. You'll see a little door right by the store that sells film and stuff. You have a great view of the fireworks from there. It does get a little crowded though. :cool1:

If you go over the 3 hr. limit, they will tow your car away and use it in the next showing of Lights, Motors, Action show. You CAN pick it up afterwards, but it'll be pretty much demolished. You get a free pin though.

How do you get to the CR by car?Do you go through the MK gates? Thanks. :)

Yes, take the farthest open gate on the right, there is a narrow road that goes straight, whereas the road to the MK parking makes a bend to the left.

There is also a back way to the MK resorts via the road by Fort Wilderness.

What if you have a PS for breakfast. Can you park there, stay at the park all day, then monorail back to go home around dinner time? If you valet park?

What 4th floor lounge would that be? The Outer Rim is on the 4th floor and you cannot see the fireworks from there.

They do dim lights/pipe it in at CG, Narcoosee's (I think) and at O'Hana's.

You could try going to the 2nd floor and asking if you could have a drink at the bar. We did that on our trip in Dec. we figured they would tell us yes or no so we did and they said yes go right up. We got a drink and went outside to watch the fire works. There is no harm in asking and if they say no just go outside and watch them from there
