Not that I don't sympathize. Paying for parking is one of my pet peeves.

Please don't take this the wrong way....but you are DVC members, and $100 in parking expenses for various parks seems out of line?

Never stayed at the Poly or GF, but I wasn't impressed by RPR last year. Our room at Hyatt Place across the street the year before was SO much bigger and had a free fridge, breakfast and wi-fi for $30/night(Priceline). Neither the phone or wi-fi in our room at RPR worked, and noone at the front desk seemed concerned about it. I was glad we got to move to our condo the next night. Honestly, I had a better experience at Pop Century than I did at RPR. I'm kind of hooked on offsite now, though.

I read some parking threads and am more confused now. We will be going to US, IOA, WW, AQ, and SW. We will end up driving to all of these if we stay at our DVC. We have never had to pay to park because we always do Disney. The idea of paying over $100 to park our car freaks me out. Is there any Parking passes that can be bought to park for 1 price or something of that nature. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you are staying at DVC then you will not pay for parking at Disney parks.

I dont know if it helps but I think if you buy the flex ticket you only pay once per day to park. If you decide to go to other parks included in the ticket you just show receipt from 1st park.

There's nothing "free" anywhere. It is all hidden into the cost of your hotel or tickets.

To each their own of course. I'll rephrase that to generally speaking the Loew's hotel chain is considered nicer. Also, our RPR room was fine and staff was also good.

I have stayed at the Polynesian and I like it but it's WAY overpriced IMO. I prefer the AKL but it doesn't have much in the way of amenities either. I myself like offsite best...usually.

I spent $500 for a WEEK in a 3 bedroom condo at EI last year. It almost killed me to fork over $300 for one night at RPR, but we wanted to try the FOTL passes. We won't do it again; the rides we like most have single rider lines, so FOTL was not that big a deal for us. This year we are staying in a 5 bedroom pool home in Indian Creek for $850 for the week. Can't beat that!

It is definitely a personal preference thing. Never took us more than 15 minutes to get to a park last year. It beat having to wait for the bus and then having to stand(Disney). I loved having the room to spread out and being able to have a fridge and microwave(had an over too, but we didn't use it)

I am assuming you mean staying onsite at Universal, since you mentioned walking to the parks? We stayed across the street at Hyatt Place Universal in 2009 and we could have walked it in 10 minutes every day at the PL rate of $30/night. Alas, it was July, so we rode the shuttle there and then took a $5 taxi back. We had our car, but parking at Universal is a big hassle to me.
