Hiya all,

can anyone help... just wondering how far from the park the parking is? Where is it situated? - never had to use it before cos we stayed at Disneyland hotel first time round... We'll be at Davy Crockett's this time, and with 2 little ones (nr5 and 6) we're formulating our strategies, but if it's a huge walk we might have to rethink - see below..

So far, taking all the advice we can:
we're staying 5 nights, so have lots of time! (12-17 April)
We plan to go to the parks for the magic hours opening time (8am most days we're there)
We plan to stay till it gets busy - 11:30/12ish
Back to DCR - lunch, swim, animals, rest(:rotfl: )
Back to parks for 4/5pm ish, couple more rides, eat
then go with the flow -see how kids are etc... (:hippie: )
Only booked one night's food - Cafe Mickey 13th April, so we plan on being flexible

any comments?
Also, what time do we pick up breakfast at DCR - is it worth it?

Cheers,
Tessa

The Disney Parking is behind the hotel New York and is huge with lots of moving sidewalks. My inside tip is to forgo that parking lot unless its included in the price of your stay. Instead, use the pay parking lot for Disney Village. Its right next to the Gaumont theatre, much smaller, and much closer to the parks. Cost is no more than the disney lot.

I think it was about 7.00 - 9.30am. Have a look at the DCR faq and you'll see photos of our breakfast. Croissants, a bagette, fresh orange juice, milk, coffee, tea, jam, hot chocolate. We thought it was excellent.

As far as parking is concerned as a DCR guest you can park for free in the main Disney car park.

I'm intrigued -my kids would love that, in fact I've just mentioned it to DH and even he thinks it'd be worth a look.:)

Well its just one long row of sidewalks with breaks in them. They have a big Disney canopy over them sort of big top style and there is music playing. They dont extend out among the cars, just down the middle.

My children loved the moving sidewalks. They were one of the things they liked the best!! Really disappointed when we managed to park closer to the entrance!

The breakfast at DCR is really worth collecting & when we were there last yr came in cardboard picnic hampers.

All prking is free. If you park in the large multistorey which is parking for the Disney village if you go to the office when you return to your car they waive the parking fee. We also took a photo of the number of the space we were in on DS mobile. It made it much easier to find.

the pool at DCR is great I'm sure your kids will love it. We also found the buffet next to the pool good value. It's not a character meal but characters do appear & CM entertain the kids.

On our last visit DD15 insisted on seeing the raindeer. They are in a field behind the indian tents & rather hard to find.

Why did you get the parking for free? What did you have to show to get that?

Thanks everyone,

sounds like breakfast is worth it, and the pool is one of the reasons we chose DCR as the kids are just learning to swim (the other reason being separate bedrooms and noisy kids!!) - all that, reindeer too, and moving walkways - as well as 2 parks, disney village and a Christmas shop(another thread!!) - you may have guessed, I'm getting excited - and still a month away!!!!

24 sleeps to France , 31 sleeps to DISNEY MAGIC.....

Cheers,
Tessa

Morgan, Sue got the parking free because she was staying at Davy Crockett Ranch. I would imagine when parking at the parks you would show your room card??

Yes parking was free because we were staying on site.

At the carparks you just show your guest pass & they waive you through.

In the multi storey there's no-one when you go in so thats why you have to go to the office to have your fee waived. Or you did when we went in 2005. We looked at the pay machines but it didn't say anything about free parking for guests but they were very helpful in the office.

Hiya,

I looked on the DLRP website - for DCR guests it says parking is free in the Disney Parks carpark, but it is only free after 6pm in the disney village car park . I guess the Disney village one is the multistory?

Cheers
