Parking and Getting Wet at Moderate Resorts?

I know there is no valet parking at the moderate resorts but is there a place to park/drop off people so that you will not get wet going to your room?

Well, I think the moderates all have exterior doors to the rooms, so the best you could do would be to pull up as near to the walkway leading to your particular building as possible and let everyone out.

I think (and I'm sure someone will come along and correct me if I'm wrong) that only the Deluxe resorts have room access via interior corridors.

If it's raining, you will get wet going to your room. You can park "close" but you could have anywhere from a quick sprint across the parking lot to your room, to a more complicated crossing of quite a bit of property (take a look at the layout maps of the resorts). This is where that Mickey poncho comes in handy.

If you are checking in, the bell service has carts that are protected from the elements.

That is correct, all moderates have only exterior doors and walkways. Some rooms can be a little walk from the parking areas. They have parking areas around each building, not one central parking area like the deluxes.

I also think that is correct (and the Home Away from Homes attached to them). However, being in a Deluxe doesn't mean you won't get wet. The Grand Floridian is a series of buildings surrounding the central courtyard. You can valet at the main building but you'll get wet heading back to your room. Under some circumstances, (like folks dressed for a wedding and it's teeming), they will run the bell cart to ferry folks. The Poly also has the multi-building set-up.
