Can anyone who has stayed at SSR tell me whether the parking is close enough to the rooms that you do not need to have bags taken to the rooms by baggage services? Thanks!

we stayed in may and the car park is close to each block so there is no problem taking bags from the car to the room less than 100 yards to the lift we had no problem with the bags we took and we stay at disney 2 weeks at a time DW dosent nead to pack sink now thar we are in DVC

Hubby and I took all of our own stuff from car to the room last week, but we only had two bags on wheels that everything else piled up on. There are bellman available to help you if think you need it. I would say it depends on how much stuff you have and if lots of groceries, etc. and if you mind hauling it all in the heat or not.

Should I be too embarassed to mention that we ended up buying a suitcase and filled it up so we had three bags going home.

I guess it depends on how many bags you have. The parking Lot was right in front of the building we stayed in, so I would not have any problem with carrying the bags up. They do have elevators in case you dont want to lug them up a few flights.

Since SSR was not busy at all - only one building open, and we were there the first day (May 17th), the staff was more than willing to take our bags. We pulled up to check in, and I was going to just walk in to get our room assignment - and they asked us if we wanted our bags taken up to the room. So - of course, I opened the trunk and let them deliver the bags.

THANKS FOR THE INFO, IT IS GOOD TO KNOW THAT THE CAR WIL BE PRETTY CLOSE. WE TEND TO USE THE CAR TO GO TO THE WATER PARKS AND MEALS AT OTHER RESORTS.

Thats how our last trip was... I packed a bunch of stuff and only wore a few things as we did laundry.

It understandable coming from a fellow long driver!

I am hoping the availability of FREE washer/dryer without waiting will help shrink the luggage down.

Our KIA can ony hold so much :teeth:
