We usually stay at the Park Place Inn, but the prices are alot more than we're paying at the Park Vue.

Can anyone tell me about the Park Vue?

Wer have a group of three families (and one grandpa), so we wanted to stay close.

Thanks

julia

We just booked a room at Park Vue for the spring. All the reviews I have read were favorable. When They sent us the information it was a personalized (not Generic) responce to the e-mail I had sent.
I have not stayed there yet but so far personal service is good
I hope someone else can give both of us a little more info.

I just stayed there this weekend for the CHOC walk, and I was not impressed. I will say the it was conveniently located. I have read online reviews that were pretty good so maybe I am just picky. The rooms were okay, but the Candy Cane Inn is so much prettier. The walls also seemed really thin, we could here the people next door as if they were in the room with us (luckily nothing racy was happening). We stayed on the first floor so that may be some of the problem. We had people walking around upstairs plus all the noise of people going to their cars.

My sister and her family (DH, DD10, DD7) stayed there in August and would NEVER do it again. The rooms were filthy. She could not get the white socks clean and had to throw them out! The bunk beds in the "suite" were shoved in a spot almost not big enough and the children had to duck to get into bed. Worst of all, they all contracted some kind of bug from the swimming pool there and ended up with big welts when they came back.
Just happened to be speaking to her about it at Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday (Canadians here) and she said she would never go back and couldn't imagine why anyone would.
So, you may want to try something else. I should add that my sister was just looking for something clean and close to the park. She's not looking for something ritzy or special.
Good luck!

The welts might have been from Bed Bugs, not the pool. Wasn't this the hotel latest mentioned with the bed bug infestation?

I believe the bed bugs was the Best Western park place. I know because while i was staying there, my friend told me about the bed bugs. I never saw one but did see exactly 1 silver fish. He didnt' last long though. (it's tough being a bug)

Ok I'm not a bug expert. What is a silver fish and what do they look like?

I did end up with a bite on my leg, but I don't know if it was a bed bug, flea bite or who knows what.

check epedia and trip advisor for reviews, We had initialy planned to stay there, but I cancelled the reservations the same week I made them after reading the reviews. Everyone of them complained about roaches, and it just being filthy and the breakfast being terrible. Once I heard about the roaches, I was done!!!!

okay, I went to Trip Advisor and of the 20 most recent reviews, 16 are good and four are so so (but nor specifically about rooms being horrible...one is about the pool area, which is a moot point in December)

On Expedia, the reviews of 21 were primarily positive (maybe 2 or 3 not awesome, but not horrible, either)

ANy more comments?

I am SO SORRY!!! I was thinking of a different hotel, I am sorry again, I cant believe i did that. Im such a doof sometimes.

No, they definitely weren't from the beds. My sister didn't swim and so was the only family member NOT to get the itchy red welts. If they had been bed bugs, then she would have been affected too.
All I can say is, if you still decide to stay there, then best of luck to you. You have been warned.

PS They didn't book through expedia etc and so haven't posted reviews on those sites.

I saw those reviews and I was really surprised. All I can say is I won't be staying there again. However, if you just plan on sleeping there and you don't mind the noise level you may be fine. Like I said I am picky, I don't have kids and I enjoy going back to the room to relax. I could not relax in the room because there was so much noise. I also thought the outside of the hotel looked run down. I think I read they are re-paving the parking lot, which it really needs.

My bad. I knew one of the close ones had been mentioned in the last weeks. Hope your stay there is just fine. :)

We stayed at the Park Vue once and had one of the larger rooms in the rear. It was juat an okay place. The windows and walls were thin so you could here noide from outside and next door. They have been sprucing it up with a new facade and decor but it is an old motel and needs more than sprucing. I guess for the right price I would stay there again as the location is awesome.

Here is a silverfish. They are not big or mean or anything like that.
