Park Vue Inn or Tropicana?

I originally booked the Hojo but I am looking to cut some costs. We were in a suite at the Hojo so to save some money and be closer to the main entrance I've been trying to decide between the PVI or Tropicana. Tropicana is 400.00 cheaper than PVI but staying at PVI is still 400.00 cheaper than the Hojo so I'd be saving money no matter what. Can someone compare these two? Like room size difference and walking difference? PVI room pictures look bigger than Tropicana. Cleanliness is important too. Does one of these hotels have less bug issues?

I can't speak to Park Vue, but how many people are staying in your room? We had 4 people (3 adults) in a 2 queen room at Tropicana and it was a tight fit, however the walk was super quick, the hotel was clean, and the price was right. DH and I are staying there again this fall for our anniversary trip.

It will be me and my husband and two 13 year old girls.

Park Vue is directly across the street from Disney and Tropicana is a little bit further. I mean a LITTLE bit. I have also went back and forth about this as well. We currently have reservations at Tropicana but will just be my adult daughter and I. For our trip, Park Vue is about $100 more. If you will have a car, parking is free at Park Vue but you have to pay at Tropicana.

Tropicana does not have free breakfast, does Park Vue? Tropicana is very clean and close to the park, but if breakfast is included at Park Vue I might choose that. How did Park Place Inn price for your days? That is our favorite!

Park Vue has a hot breakfast included in the price.

Tropicana used to have free breakfast, do they not anymore? (not a deal breaker in any way)

Not anymore. They do have a little store on site that offers coffee, pastries, bagels, cereal... We would grab bagels to eat in line for security.

Just wondering if you've checked Desert Inn, literally right next to Park Vue (It looks like one building almost). They have availability around then for $119 a night. They have continental breakfast free, nothing fancy, but adequate-- cereal, fruit, pastries, juice, etc. I found them simple but comfortable and clean, and had really nice customer service. We're going back there.

I like PVI just ever so slightly more than Trop, but not $400 more. The breakfast at PVI is pretty substantial and parking is much easier. Trop's rooms are just slightly smaller than the average. Both have comparable pools (if that matters). Desert Inn is my third fav, only because of the availability of suites for my larger family. But, I'm not a fan of the parking, pool or prison block exterior there:crazy2::rolleyes:.

Thanks everyone. If I figured $15/ person for breakfast which I think is on the low side then the prices are about the same. So I am going to book Park Vue. Thanks for everyone's input.

I like PVI, the beds are very comfortable and you can make your own waffles at breakfast. Don't forget to check out the little store if you are not having groceries delivered, water and soda is much cheaper than in the parks. -I wish I had gone in there when my daughter first pointed it out. Our next trip is booked at BWPPI because of a $200 price difference.

We loved the Park Vue Inn! The breakfast kept us full all morning and the room was clean. The pool area is really pretty; it is landscaped so nicely, you almost forget it's the middle of the parking lot. I do wish the pool wasn't mostly all deep-end. The shallow end is maybe 1/4 of the whole pool.

We are staying at BWPPI this time because we got a good deal and it was much cheaper than PVI. Otherwise, we'd be back at Park Vue!

We loved Park Vue the price was great the breakfast was awesome and soo close there is also a ice cream shop inbthe front we actually had it booked for our trip but needed to cut cost also so we will be stayin at stanford inn and suites this time and using ART

Did you call for their returning guest discount? That will knock the price down a bit (I've had it be different amounts, but it usually takes a 2Q room down to about $150).

We love Tropicana! The breakfast is never an issue because I usually bring breakfast with us when we drive down (muffins, granola bars, milk, cereal, etc) and I just get a cup of coffee at Sbux. It's quiet, it's only a couple handful of steps farther than PVI (literally like 10 steps), they have good military discounts, etc. The rooms are small but average for the area and type of room.

Space wise it could be a tight fit; we had myself, DH, DD who was 5 at the time, and my mom. We only stayed one night and were only in the room to sleep, but a longer stay might feel a little crowded when you're all in the room.

Ok. So forget Tropicana. What about BWPPI vs Desert Inn? I can book BWPPI for 170/night in a mini suite with double queen and sofa sleeper or a parlor suite with the same room set up for 153/night. The regilar rooms are BWPPI 149/night or Desert Inn 123/night.

I'm checking out of the PVI today. It was very clean. The fixtures and room were in good repair. It was a two Q room and had plenty of walking space. I also liked the bathroom/vanity set up.

I thought the breakfast was okay. I did not like the communal yogurt and milk. I don't mind buffet stuff but I want to see the expiration dates on dairy products. It's weird I know. They had bread and mini bagels for toasting and you could make a waffle but no pastries or rolls. They also had a mixed fruit salad but no whole fruit. The had oatmeal to make and three dried cereals. They switched entrees between two. Both days had scrambled eggs. (They had boiled eggs by the fruit and yogurt and cottage cheese) then some days they had bicuits gravy and bacon and on the other days they had sausage links and potatoes. Tasted good.

You can see high fireworks from some rooms and the parking lot. It is a quick walk. (I was in the very back).

The small store was great for a soda or water. I also walked down to Panera twice for dinner. Very close walk, it's right next to McDonalds and right before 'I is cafe.
