Park Vue Inn or Tropicana?

Stayed in the parlor suite at Desert Inn. The "parlor" is just a small room (just wide enough to accommodate the sofa on one end and the tv at the other end) that you enter first from the door, with a queen sleeper sofa and a tv, then an inner door into the main room with 2 queen beds. Clean, comfortable, and I noticed they had nice quality linens. I requested ahead of time, and got, top floor and as far forward as possible; it was very nice to be close to the front. The breakfast is simple continental-- cereal, yogurt, juice, hard boiled eggs, which is fine for us. They have a small indoor pool/hot tub, and a rooftop deck you can see fireworks from, if you head back early. Service was friendly and prompt at the front desk and on the phone.

The Park Vue is so close next door that I thought they were attached. There's a ColdStone Ice cream store, and just behind that, a good little convenience store if you need to pick up any essentials or snacks.

Have not stayed at BWPPI, though I've heard good things about it; only con I hear is that the rooms are kind of dark and dingy.

Did you call for their returning guest discount? That will knock the price down a bit (I've had it be different amounts, but it usually takes a 2Q room down to about $150).
No, I thought about it. I got BWPPI King room w/sofabed for $116 with AAA discount. I wanted to try it anyway so I have more options on a future trip. I only new about the returning guest discount from this board though.

We just got back from our 7 night stay at the Tropicana. It was fantastic. I thought the room was very spacious (we were just 1 adult and 1 child.. but thought it would be fine for 3-4 people), it had a huge double sink vanity outside the toilet/bathtub. Loved the pool and hot tub. Loved how close it was to walk to the parks. Our room was on the bottom floor towards the back of the hotel (so a few extra steps at the end of the day, but not a deal breaker). It was super quiet, everything was clean, the beds were comfy.. we slept like babies at the end of each day. Would definitely recommend! The price was right too.. I think the average was about $100/night for our stay.

Thanks for posting this! We were looking at the Best Western but it's sold out for our dates. I think I'm gonna go with the Desert Inn.

So I've booked the BWPPI and I think I am sticking with it. Double queen with pullout sofa, free breakfast and right across the street. Five nights under 1000.00. Whewwwwww!

If you're still looking you should call the BWPPI directly. Online there were days blocked out for the room I wanted but they had it available when I called.
