We have stayed at Park Vue a few times, but for our next trip I found that Tropicana is a little cheaper, and the Desert Inn is a lot cheaper. Any recommendations from those who have stayed at one, two or all?

I think those are all great options! We've become partial to the Tropicana, but that's largely because we get a 2 bedroom suite there that works with our young kids. They are all clean and close!

Park vue or Tropicana.

Edit to add, we did not have a great stay at desert inn. Dirty room and super uncomfortable bed. Made for a really bad park day the next day. I know others love it there. We plan to give them another chance if they renovate/refurbish their rooms. ☺️

We stayed at Tropicana in January and were happy with our choice. Until that time, I'd only stayed at one of the two Best Westerns on that street but they have gotten too expensive. I am also waiting to see how the BW handles a credit card dispute for a September reservation I canceled, which shows a cancelation # on my account but that they somehow didn't have on their end. If that doesn't end as I expect, I may not trust BW enough to book there again. Until then (and maybe even if it gets resolved in my favor), I am in favor of staying at Tropicana instead.

I've stayed at all three multiple times
#1 Park Vue
#2 Tropicana

#49 Desert Inn (and only if I absolutely need a large suite)

Why do you rank Desert Inn so far below the other 2?
I find the beds to be really uncomfortable, and the furnishings are worn and dated. The parking is a pain if you have to use valet, and slow because you have to wait for them to unbury your car. The elevators are dark, dank, and reminiscent of a parking garage. There aren't enough elevators for the size of the property, so it's unlikely one will be located close to your room. My interactions with the staff haven't been terrible; they just seem indifferent. Housekeeping will often block the outdoor corridors with carts, and it becomes impossible to pass with a stroller or luggage.

There are just so many better options on Harbor, I always pass up DI&S unless I REALLY need a cheap suite.

I agree the parking SUCKS. Once upon a time they didn't reply on Valet and you could just park your car by yourself, which I prefer.

Thanks for all the replies. We are going to stick w/ Park Vue.

I think that's a good choice. I haven't stayed at Tropicana but I would definitely choose Park Vue over Desert Inn. We did stay at Desert in several times and it was fine. But being closer to the park is nice. And I really didn't like the old, rickety elevators at Desert Inn.

We just checked out of Tropicana on Tuesday after a 3-night stay. The last time we stayed there was 2017 before their rennovation. It was marginal then (one light didn't work, bathroom door didn't latch, peeling paint), but a lot better now. Our room was in good repair, clean and serviceable. Front desk staff was very nice. We needed to store luggage on our flight days since we got there well before check-in time, and didn't need to leave until the afternoon on check-out day. The storage room is in the lobby and very easy to access.

We've stayed at Desert Inn many times. The parking isn't great if you drive in, but we didn't have a huge problem using the valet since we never take our car in and out. The rooms are fine, but the beds are a bit hard. We decided not to stay there for this trip since we were flying and their luggage storage is a pain in the you-know-what. It's a little room in the carport area and you have to walk to the office ask the front desk to send someone with a key. Then you have to stand there and wait for someone to show up, which can take a few minutes. You have to repeat the process when you're ready to retrieve your luggage. We stayed at Desert Inn last year when we flew and decided we didn't want to hassle with it this year. Tropicana was much easier.
