It has been 7 long years since our last Universal trip (thanks United States Navy) and we are finally headed back this summer. We will have 3 day, Park to Park tickets and staying at Portofino. We only plan on using 2 days and one night at Portofino. Do you need to have the Park to Park option in order to ride the Hogwarts Express? My MIL will be joining us for one day and was not planning on the park to park option.

Any other advice in using the EP and utilizing the best times at Wizarding World?

Thanks!

Yes, You need park to park for Hogwarts Express. And Thank you for your service!

Staying at a Universal Hotel, you can get into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter early. Go straight for Escape to Gringots. The castle and Gringots are not part of the Express pass that you can add to your ticket to avoid the lines. So you have to wait in line.

Thanks all! Plan to hit Islands of Adventure on day 1 and then early entry to WW on day 2. Will tell the MIL that she needs park to park if she wants to ride HE with the grandkids

"Wizarding World" is in both parks. Diagon Alley in Studios and Hogsmeade in IOA. Just in case that wasn't clear. :)

Yep.........

Hogsmeade is in IOA and that's where Hogwarts Castle and Forbidden Journey are. Diagon Alley has Gringotts ride and so many other fabulous things to see.

Definitely get Park to park tickets.......well worth it. The Hogwarts Express is a fun thing to do and the journey is different both ways.

Have you checked the website to see all the changes in the last 7 years?

You can see park maps and layouts and give you an idea of where everything is.......

Thanks all! Yes, I knew Hogsmeade was in IOA and we were able to visit that section on our last visit. We will do it again this time, for sure, but will likely do the early entry on day 2 to the newer Diagon Alley (only one night at Portofino). We will have park to park so I will make sure MIL buys the same so she can do everything with the kids.
