Newbie here, do you buy your park tickets at resort or from somewhere else? And if you buy elsewhere does the resort add it to your room keys?

The best deal is normally through Undercover Tourist, using a discount code that is published in a monthly newsletter put out by Mousesavers (you can sign up on the Mousesavers website).

And they should be able to put them on your KTTW card at the resort.

We've used Undercover Tourist in the past and they were great! In fact, we used them again for our upcoming trip. We received the tickets within a week of ordering them and we were able to easily get the tickets put unto our Key to the World (KTTW) Card without any problems. I know that there are other official resellers out there but we've had great success with them.

Anyone know if an annual pass can be added to a KTTW?

From Post #12 in Cheshire Figment's thread "Everything About WDW Tickets":

"If you did not purchase a package, and reserved “room only”, you can have your tickets (as long as they are not Annual Passes) added onto your room key."

So that would indicate to me that you cannot put an AP on your KTTW.

The thread cited above is in the "Disney Trip Planning Forum" under "Theme Park Attractions and Strategies". It's "sticky" so you should find it near the top of the list. It's a great source for ticket info.

Another vote for undercover tourist. Just bought 2-10 day passes.

We don't put them on our KTTW cards. I write on the backs how many days are on the card and cross them off when we use them so I always know (visually) how many days we have left.

Another vote for UT. We also keep track of our days on the back of the ticket and do not have them added to our KTTW cards. We also make few copies of them just in case they are lost or stolen. :goodvibes

Moved from DVC boards.

FWIW, the DVC resorts have same procedures for tickets as the other on-site WDW resorts.

I thought that I read a thread on the resorts board that they no longer could put outside tickets on your KTTW. Has anyone been able to do it recently? If so, did you do it at your resort or at the parks?

I just talked to MS and they no longer add the undercover tx to the KTTW.:confused3

We just returned from our trip yesterday. We stayed at the Boardwalk Villas.
I purchased tickets from the Undercover Tourist and the Concierge at the Boardwalk added them to our "Key to the World" cards no problem. It's a great way to go!

Ok, so, please help out a relative newbie.....

Do you book a room only reservation and then use UT tickets?:confused3

That's the way we've done it the last two trips. I booked our rooms only and was lucky enough to get a pin code to get a % off on the rooms. Then, we purchased our tickets through Undercover Tourist (using the Mousesavers link).

Worked out great for us as we did not get the meal plan. We also had our tickets put on our KTTW card. This was at Pop, last Thanksgiving week. The CM even returned the tickets (stamped "invalid" on the back) so I can use them for my scrapbook.

Crunch the numbers and see how it works out best for you.

Can you have UT tickets and KTTW tickets and use them seperately on the same day for two different parks in place of the hopper.

We are going on the cruise and added 2 days to the end of the cruise to spend the days at the MK. The day of arrival we were thinking about going to epcot for a few hours to ride sourin', take DD 6 to see Duffy and do a little Kim Possible while we wait for the room to be ready, using an UT ticket. Then that evening we want to go to EMH at the MK and use our tickets that are on the KTTW card.

Is this possible or would it be better (cheaper) to upgrade to the hopper?

I have never purchased from UT. I can tell you that if you purchase at the Disney Store they offer a discount (from what I have seen the best) however if you purchase from AAA it is also discounted and you do not pay the sales tax. You just have to figure out what works out best. :wizard:

$54 to upgrade to hopper, and you're looking at $80 or so for 1 day ticket
