Park tickets

Can you have UT tickets and KTTW tickets and use them seperately on the same day for two different parks in place of the hopper.

We are going on the cruise and added 2 days to the end of the cruise to spend the days at the MK. The day of arrival we were thinking about going to epcot for a few hours to ride sourin', take DD 6 to see Duffy and do a little Kim Possible while we wait for the room to be ready, using an UT ticket. Then that evening we want to go to EMH at the MK and use our tickets that are on the KTTW card.

Is this possible or would it be better (cheaper) to upgrade to the hopper?

It doesn't look like UT sells less than a 3 day ticket so probably not a good option. Your theory is sound though, but as PP pointed out not very economical.

I'm so glad I checked out this thread, I never knew you could have outside tickets added to the KTTW card. We only ever bought outside tickets when they had wicked corporate deals (like a 7 day for price of a 3 day, something spiffy like that) and never thought to ask to add them to the card. I stressed all week about leaving them in FP machines and dropping it out of pockets since there was no replacement :) This was obviously before I joined the DIS and found out about ways to replace lost tickets  I'll have to go back to the ticket sticky and see what else I missed.

This time I planned on buying the 'works' as I call it (10day PH WPM NE) and since it's the NE I wanted it on KTTW card to make it easy to keep and more durable. So I was resigned to paying the gate price. But if they still add UT tickets to KTTW I can save $100 on 2 and still have the card for multiple trips (plus all those WPM entries which could last me a lifetime )

Honestly, the strips on the tyvek cardstock is more durable than the mag strip on the kttw.

I'm not so much concerned with the strip being demagnetized (although good point, those KTTW cards are sensitive) as much as me losing the ticket in between trips. For whatever reason I keep track of plastic better than paper bits. I still have the KTTW card from my 06 trip floating around and I swear a few years ago I saw the '93 key still. But a bit of paper with a mickey head on it is toast in my house. Even putting it in the safe is doubtful as I can see it getting stuck to some papers and 'traveling'.

But you have given me something to think about with the magnetic strips.

ETA: Oh, and by more durable I meant getting folded and wrinkled and wet. As we don't do the WP&M parks very often, I really think I'll have to card for 10 years or so.

I store my tickets between trips in one of these

Also good for at the water parks, obviously!
If you don't put it on the kttw, take a photo with the serial number of the ticket. Save the photo to your computer, and email it to yourself so you can't lose it!
