park tickets.

Now I'm confused.

With the MYW ticket if you want to go to a waterpark or a DisneyQuest, I thought you had to pay for that "option"... I usually buy a 10 day ticket with park hopping, and we havent been to a waterpark or DQ since the MYW tickets...

in the "olden" days when I had a length of stay ticket I thought it included a couple of waterpark days and/or DQ days (that we never used actually)

:confused3

If you purchase the "Water Parks and More" option at an additional charge, then you get a certain number of water park visits.
You CAN use one of these water park visits on the same day as you use a theme park admission without having the hopper option.
You CANNOT visit 2 of the theme parks (MK, AK, MGM, Epcot) on the same day if you don't have the hopper option.

Note, also, that it is not worthwhile to preserve just the last day of a 10 day pass using non-expiration.

Blizzard Beach during the day, Pleasure Island at night, no other places visited -- Consumes zero days and two water park visits with or without hopping on your ticket.

Magic Kingdom during the day, Disney Quest at night, no other places visited -- Consumes one day and one water park visit with or without hopping.

>>> One park - per day - exactly. WHICH MEANS if you went to 3 parks in one day, you'd be using 3 days of your ticket.

Wrong, it does not mean that at all.
(And as previously mentioned, when you got to the second theme park on that day you would not be admitted without first going to the Guest Relations window outside and purchasing the hopping option for the ticket and then you would not consume another day upon entering the turnstile.)

>>> 7 day ticket for a 10 day vacation, example in this thread
Open question: Would the CM at Guest Relations downgrade the 10 day basic ticket into a 7 day hopping ticket i.e. credit the last 3 days (about $6.) towards hopping in response to the mistake stated by the CM on the phone?

A few weeks ago there was a lady at the gate at MGM arguing with CM that said she was told that same thing over the phone and the CM refused her entry. She said she had bought a 10 day hopper for their seven day trip so that they could hop a few days and it would be cheaper. The CM was very polite but still refused them entry and sent them to Guest Services.

Nope - you can't do that. Only one park per day, unless you have the park hopping option.

NancyIL is correct. Why would anyone add the more expensive hopper feature if you could use two days of a ticket on the same day.

It can't be done.

WHich means if you went to 3 parks in one day, you'd be using 3 days of your ticket.

We should see if we could get a straight answer on this one, because I am 99.999% sure you CAN... you'd just be using another day.

Nope - can't be done. If you want to go to more than one park on one day, you must purchase the hopper feature. This does not include water parks, if you have purchased the water parks feature, of course.

Then I stand corrected....

I must be thinking back to NON MYW tix, and youre right - why wouldnt they have changed this? A 10 day MYW is not much more than a 6 day.

That is exactly why - the Hopper option costs $45 per ticket, while extra Days added to the base ticket only cost about $2 more per day (once you get past 5 days on the base ticket, that is).

Think of it in terms of DAYS and PLUSSES.

A DAY is a single admission to one of the four theme parks. Base tickets consist of a number of DAYS from one to ten. The $45 Hopper option turns all the DAYS on your ticket into park-hopping DAYS, allowing you to visit more than one park per day. But you cannot use more than one DAY from the same ticket on any given day, no matter what.

A PLUS is a single admission that can be used at any of the 5 minor venues - Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Pleasure Island, DisneyQuest, or Disney's Wide World of Sports. When you add the Water Parks and More option to a base ticket, you get a number of PLUSSES (how many depends on how long your base ticket is). PLUSSES cannot be made into hoppers, but you can use as many PLUSSES on any given day as you like. And you can use as many PLUSSES as you like on the same day that you use a DAY.

I don't think that Disney officially calls PLUSSES by that name any more; I think they refer to them as Visits or Options or something like that. The term PLUS is left over from the older Park Hopper and Park Hopper Plus passes, but I still use the term PLUS to avoid confusion with the DAYS you get on a base ticket.

Now you're correct.

Yes, you pay extra (about $55. per ticket) for the water park option, and the number of visits varies (at least 3, at most 6) depending on the number of days on the ticket. If you are only visiting one water park (or DQ) once is it more economical to buy a completely separate ticket at the gate or from Ticketmania, etc.

Yes the old (discontinued) length of stay ticket included (unlimited) water park and/or DQ (and also Pleasure Island club) visits.

OK Folk. I work at Guest Relations, Ticket Sales and Turnstile Greeter at one of the water parks and early this year I worked at Epcot's Main Gate. Here be the rules:

The system is set up in such a way that you cannot use a base ticket that does not have the hopper option in more than one major park (AK, EC, MGM, MK) on one day. Also, either a base or hopper cannot be used in a minor park (BB, DQ, PI, TL, WWS) without the Water Parks Fun and More option.

If you have been to one park and attempt to use your ticket in another park on the same day, when you put it in the turnstile several things will happen.

1. The display on the Guest side will show "ACCESS DENIED".

2. The turnstile will not unlock.

3. The two line display on the Greeter side will show information about the ticket's entitlements on the top line, and on the lower line it will say "CROSSOVER NOT PERMITTED". (If a minor park without WPF&M it will say "ACCESS NOT PERMITTED".)

If the Greeter wishes, by pushing a button he can see exactly when and where the ticket was used last.

Depending on the Greeter, and how crowded it is, you will either be told your options at that time or told to go to either Guest Relations or any ticket window for further explanation.

If I have the time, or when I am in a booth, I will explain the options as follows:

1. Upgrade the ticket to a hopper (currently $45 whether one day or ten day and adult or child).

2. Go back to original park, as unlimited same day re-entry is permitted.

3. Just go away and don't bother me (actually I wouldn't say that).

If at a Water Park I would explain that for $50 you could upgrade a ticket to include between 3 and 6 minor park entries, depending on the number of base days on the ticket. Or if you plan on only one day at a minor park that you purchase one-day tickets (currently $36 adult, $30 child 3-9).

Since Disney charges only $2 per additional day over five, $45 for a hopper and $50 for WPF&M, it does not make economic sense for Disney to allow use of an extra day on a non-hopping ticket to hop.

I do like that Disney gives us more choices now with tickets but it can be confusing, even to CMs apparently..

this also happened to us last xmas we went guest services and explained and after 15 min of arguing with them they let us in
i had all the peoples name who gave us the wrong info that helped she said

We specifically asked about this too and were told nope. A day means only 1 park . you canot use another day to park hop. They absolutly will not let you in. Sorry

Yep, once you're there, you're spending money on food, merchandise, lodging, etc. They're making money from a form other than on admission. Get you to stay longer (and spend more money) by making it "cheap" to get into the parks for more days. Ah, capitalism. :thumbsup2
