park tickets.

Wow, you are right that he is wrong, unfortunately :(

In order to hop you must have the hopper feature. The tickets are sold as X number of days not X number of park visits. Once you have used a non hopper that day you can only use it at that park again that day. The turnstyle will recognize what park the ticket was used in and only allow entrance to that park.

A few weeks ago there was a lady at the gate at MGM arguing with CM that said she was told that same thing over the phone and the CM refused her entry. She said she had bought a 10 day hopper for their seven day trip so that they could hop a few days and it would be cheaper. The CM was very polite but still refused them entry and sent them to Guest Services.

Wait - are you asking if you could use that 10 day ticket and have 2 days removed to "hop", then the answer is yes.

If you wanted to go to 4 parks - that would be okay too, but you'd be using 4 days of your 10.

Just like if you went to a Waterpark (one option would be removed) and then went to a park (one day would be removed)

The CM *is* right. It's not really hopping, it's using a whole day's ticket for only a few hours.

Nope - you can't do that. Only one park per day, unless you have the park hopping option.

One park - per day - exactly.

WHich means if you went to 3 parks in one day, you'd be using 3 days of your ticket.

We should see if we could get a straight answer on this one, because I am 99.999% sure you CAN... you'd just be using another day.

Wow.
That's what the CM said.
And its very common to THINK that.

But its simply not true.

The gates will NOT ALLOW you to use another "day" of a non-hopper ticket on a day when you've already gone into another park earlier.
The ticket will be refused.

This is absolutely correct.

You cannot use an additional days admission if you have already entered another park that day, period.

It used to work that way, but not since MYW and the seperation of the park hopper feature as an option has it been allowed.

Are you saying that this would ring true for water parks and/or DisneyQuest, because if you are, that is NOT the case. Ive done it - many, many times.

There IS a "straight answer" for this.

You can NOT do it.

Sorry.

My understanding for the experts here is that the ticket is for days, not parks. So the CM was incorrect, you can only use 1 day each day, no hopping if you don't have a park hopper.

You can't hop with a regular ticket. If you have water park fun and more you could go to a water park and then a theme park in the same day. You CANNOT park hop by using an extra day of your tickets.

If you could no one would buy hopper passes and Disney has already figured that out.

Not talking about Water Parks and Disney Quest... there are no "hoppers" associated with these areas.

But the THEME PARKS (MK, EP, MGM, DAK) are one-per-day on MYW ticket without purchasing a "hopper" option.

Now I'm confused.

With the MYW ticket if you want to go to a waterpark or a DisneyQuest, I thought you had to pay for that "option"... I usually buy a 10 day ticket with park hopping, and we havent been to a waterpark or DQ since the MYW tickets...

in the "olden" days when I had a length of stay ticket I thought it included a couple of waterpark days and/or DQ days (that we never used actually)

:confused3

Then I stand corrected....

I must be thinking back to NON MYW tix, and youre right - why wouldnt they have changed this? A 10 day MYW is not much more than a 6 day.

The point is to make it very attractive to STAY for an extra DAY (or more).

You'll purchase food and other things (stay at a resort longer)... if they make extra DAYS at the parks so inexpensive.

Good system.

That's correct.

We were discussing a LOT of things in this thread.
DQ and Water Parks are an additional add-on and we'll leave those out in THIS discussion...

If you buy a basic MYW ticket (no hopping) you can go to one THEME PARK per day with it.
(BTW, you CAN leave... and return to the SAME park later in that same day.)

If you add the one-price hopping option ($45 or so), you may go to as many THEME PARKS in one day on as many days (as the ticket holds) as you like.

IMHO, the one-price HOPPER fee is a pretty good deal.

No - it is confusing isn't it? The OP is talking about a MYW base ticket, no waterparks, DQ and no hopping. This ticket good for the 4 major theme parks and is based on number days not number of park visits so you can only use one day at a time. If you don't have the hopper you can't visit more than one major theme park on each day of the ticket. If you try, the turnstyle will recognize that you have used it in another park and not allow you access without the hopper feature, I am certain of this.

On the other hand you can use your plus options if you have them to visit DQ or a waterpark in addition to a theme park, if you have the plus options on your MYW ticket.

CathrynRose, I went through the same thought process you are a few months back trying to help a fellow DISer out with this question. I was way wrong, you can't use non-hoppers and burn extra days to go to more than one park. If you had 10, 1-day tickets in your hands, Disney wouldn't care. But a 10-day non-hopper is $216 and a 7-day hopper is $248...THAT they care about. :)

I'll weigh in here....
There is base ticket. I assume the OP's ticket is a 10 day base.
There is the no expiration option. More money.
There is the park hopper option. More money.
There is the water parks and more option, (formerly known as premium option or premium park hopper option) which I interpret as allowing the person to go to a water park, DQ, on the same day as you would visit a theme park.
I think the cm is wrong as well.
