Park tickets from Ticket Mania question

:goodvibes We got our tickets from Ticket Mania today and they're the "paper" kind, not the hard plastic. Do we have to exchange these tickets at the gate or are these the tickets we use? I'm curious to know how we will keep these in good shape for the 6 days we are there... and how the Fastpass machines will accept these? Last time we were there we had the plastic tickets from the room key card, however, this time we purchased them separately. Does anyone know??? Thanks!!! :goodvibes

We've bought from Ticket Mania and that's what you get. If you buy a ticket at the gate that's what you get too. When you buy your park tickets as a package or at your hotel they can add it to your room key.

We've never had a problem with them. We just take them out for fastpasses and then tuck them back in whoever's wallet. Ticketmania also gives you the photocopy of the backs for proof of purchase. Bring that with you incase you lost them or somehow they did get damaged.

I've never heard anyone complain about the paper tickets on here.

okay, thanks. i was just wondering because i wasn't sure they'd hold up or if they'd get ruined somehow from being bent or something. i'll make sure we keep them in a wallet in the backpack to avoid anything going wrong with them. Thank you very much!! :goodvibes

Yep - that's what Ticketmania gives you, and they are just fine. My family knows that once thru the gates, those tickets get handed over to me, and I keep them in a separate wallet in our backpack. I need to know where they are since I get all the fastpasses! LOL!

Have fun!

Those "paper" tickets are not really paper, they are Tyvec, a material made of mylar with paper coating. They are tough as nails and will not rip or tear, and can even survive a trip through the washing machine.

The magnetic strip on the paper tickets is also more robust than those on the plastic tickets from the Disney Store or the KTTW cards that WDW uses for room keys and such. The strips on the KTTW cards demagnetize much easier from such common things as being in a wallet next to credit cards, being in waist packs next to cell phones, and static charges from putting them in and out of your pockets.

The best way to carry park passes and FastPass slips is in a neck lanyard with a plastic pouch. I use these cheap ones from WalMart ($0.97, look for them in the jewelry section with the wallet windows):
