As an
onsite guest, you will be entitled to the benefits
all onsite guests get -- free parking at theme parks, early and late park hours, DME, etc.
As a
DVC points guest, you will be able to get the
Disney Dining Plan without having to purchase unneeded park tickets. Other than that one difference, all other rules, regs, and benefits of the
DDP are exactly the same.
If you want the DDP, the owner you rent from will have to make those arrangements through Member Services in advance of your trip, and you will pay for DDP at the front desk at checkin. DO NOT wait until the last minute to let the owner know you want DDP, because they have to make that call for you.
The owner will also have to set up DME for you, if you want to use it.
As far as DVC Member perks, Chuck is right. You might get lucky, but don't count on it.
The perks you might get aren't any big deal anyway, and whenever we've used any perks the last couple of years, we've been asked for our membership card. So don't get upset if you are denied something you're not entitled to anyway.
