I'll be arriving at WDW in 2 weeks for my 1st trip "home". I'm trying to decide on what type of ticket to get. Since I hope to make at least 2 visits per year (5-7 days each) I thought I'd get an AP (especially with the DVC discount). But then looking at the MYW 10 day pass, that could also make sense. They only problem I have with the MYW pass is that since I'll be there more frequently, I may want to do shorter visits to the parks or just go to EPCOT to eat dinner. I hate to burn up a MYW day for just a few hours.
If I get an AP, I can also get the DDE card, to save on food bill.

I won't be doing my usual "commando park visit" this trip, since I'm doing the WDW marathon. Plus, I still have some old PHP passes with a couple of days on them.

Any suggestions for either type of ticket? Hearing your pros and cons would be helpful.

Thanks!
Terri

We always get the AP's and plan our trips accordingly. Most times we get close to 20 days on them. I can't be worried about wasting a day on an EPCOT dinner so we just get the AP. Now that we get the DVC discount, to me it's the way to go if you will spend over 10 days. I bought my AP's already for my summer trip. Enjoy

For me...I look at the calander and there is a cycle coming up (depending on how you vacation) that if you vacation at Easter time starting in 2007 for a couple of years you will be able to get 2 trips in on one AP. If you vacation at various times, and can use more than 15 days in 1 year then go with the AP. Last year I was in the same delemia, And I ended up doing PAP, but we will be getting 20 days out of them, and we visit multiple parks a day...DDE has saved us a ton, but with the new DVC dining plan I will have to consider my options for our Dec 06 trip!!! Here I go again...let me know what you decide. :goodvibes

We always get APs and plan our trips so we get at least two years trips on it, plus we usually take another inbetween.

I think the AP is the way to go. We usually try to make two trips a year so I get the AP. Like you said you hate to burn a day just to eat in EPCOT that is the best thing about the AP you don't have to worry about things like that. Good luck in the run!!!!!

I think I'm going to get the AP. Even though I won't use it a lot this trip (2-3 days), I have tentative plans to go back in Oct. & Dec 06 and maybe a short trip in May. Plus I hope to go back in Jan. 07 for the marathon again.
Think I'll save the PHP's for any guests I bring with me. I got the tix before they started using the finger scan, so the next person who uses the ticket will have to keep it. But there's only 3 days left on them (besides the pluses), so they'll get used on the next trip.

Plus getting the DDE will save me some money, since I LOVE to eat at WDW! :)

Thanks for the info.

Does anyone know if the AP prices will go up after Jan. 1st? Should I buy the voucher now and activiate it when I get there? Will they mail me the voucher (which I may not get before I leave) or give me an ID number to pick it up when I get there? Can I buy the DDE when I arrive or do I have to order it before I go?

Sorry for all the questions, but it's my first time buying an AP.

Thanks!

Terri

I think you can do them as "will call" which works, since you have to activate them at customer service anyway. You can pick up a temporary DDE card in Epcot at the Customer service window that's just inside the park to the left of Spaceship earth.
