Hi all,

I have a ticket question. We've been going to Disney for 23 years but never ran into this issue before. My granddaughter will be turning 3 five days into our 12 day vacation. I contacted member services about the requirement for purchasing a ticket and this was the response I received:

Please note that when vacationing at the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort in
Florida the child's age on the reservation should reflect their age upon
arrival. Therefore, although Callie will turn three during the
reservation from May xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
the age she is at check-in is the age that applies for the entire
trip. So, in your case she is seen as being two for the entire trip and
would not require a theme park ticket for admission or be able to have a
Disney Dining Plan should you choose to add one as she is still
considered an infant.
We hope this information has been helpful.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Thank you and have a magical day,

xxxxxxx

Does anyone know this to be true? My granddaughter is very tall for her age and we were questioned many times on our last trip in September on her age and she was even asked to stand up out of her stroller a few times. I don't want to go through the hassle everyday of explaining the above response and we will be celebrating her birthday there and of course if they ask her she is going to say she is three. I don't want to think we don't need a ticket only to be forced to purchase one on the spot. I know I could avoid it by purchasing a ticket as well, but tickets are only up to 10 days so we'd basically have to buy an annual pass. I don't want to put out all that money if we don't have to, I also don't want to go through :magnify:every time we enter a park either.

Thanks for your help :thanks:

She'll be fine.

No need to waste $ on a ticket for her

Enjoy your trip!

Print out the response ... and carry a copy ... for piece of mine.

You shouldn't have an issue but take a copy of her birth certificate just in case it happens.

This is their standard procedure.

Enjoy your trip!

I wouldn't worry about spending the $ for park tickets on a barely 3yr old. Besides, once they have you in the park, you'll be spending plenty of money anyway. Just say she's two and a half....have fun.

Thanks for all the responses. I think the above is what I will do. My biggest concern was how informed the CM's at the ticket/magic band entrance were going to be. As much as I love Disneyworld, we all know that all the CM's are not on the same page information wise. I'm just wanting to avoid as much disruption time wise, I don't care if they ask and we just get to go, it's if they make us go over to Guest Services, the amount of time wasted waiting and explaining is what I'm concerned with. I don't want to do that for 12 days. Wish me luck pixiedust:

Your question has been asked before on the DISboards ... and was given the same answer.
Have a Great Trip

You'll be fine. My 2yo always insists on scanning her MB. It turns blue and they can see on there that she's listed as under 3 on our reservation. Never been questioned. Get her a birthday pin :) Then they'll know she's celebrating her 3rd birthday.

No need to lie. As has been said (in the email and on this thread), WDW is a magical land where children do not age - if she tells the truth (GD turned three during the trip), she still doesn't have to spend money for park tickets.

OP - enjoy your trip!
