I had a question, I am going to WDW with a group of people in 4 days, and on the first days, half of us are going to epcot, the other half is stayin by the pool and relaxing (6:30am flight) . Does anybody know if I were to take one of their passes to the park and use it in the fast pass machine (extra fast pass) would it expire one day off the ticket, or does it have to be scanned at the entrance for that? Thanks

It has to be scanned at the entrance to get a fastpass. If it wasn't used at the entrance, you will not get a fastpass.

Absolutely you must use the park ticket at the entrance turnstiles first to be able to get a Fast Pass. At that point the computer will mark you down as using the ticket for that day at that park. If you take someone's ticket that was not used to enter a park and put it in the FP machine you will get a ticket saying something like VOID or NOT A FAST PASS.

I hate to differ but sorry guys you are wrong and if Disney hunts me down for this I am coming for you 2 :earboy2: . But I take my mom and dads tickets with us when we go and have never had a problem getting FP with them. But I can only tell you I have used them in MK and EPCOT.

You can take anyone's tickets and obtain Fast Passes. But they would have had to be used to enter the park in the first place. Are you saying that these tickets were not used to enter the park and you still got FP?
If so then something is really out of whack with the Disney computers.

That is totally correct and actually done on several occasions. So I know it wasnt a one time thing.

I worked at Fastpass for several years. If the park ticket was not registered at the turnstiles that day, the Fastpass machines will not issue a Fastpass for that ticket.

You may be able to use this trick a lot when different family members don't visit the parks on different days. Depending on your family schedule, you can put extra days on each ticket for as little as three dollars each. Everybody goes to the park and enters the turnstiles while some family members leave immediately without their tickets. Family members still in the park can then use all of the tickets to get fast passes with.

I had a problem with my ticket one morning so they let me into the park. But when I tried to use it to get a FP, it wouldn't give me one. I had to ask the CM at the FP to get me one after I explained what happened.
