We used to be able to get to Logan via the Ted Williams tunnel in less than 40 min. We have a 7am flight on JetBlue the day before Thanksgiving. I'm not counting on this tunnel mess being fixed by then. I really don't want to get up at 3am to drive to the airport via Chelsea or whatever the alternate route will be. Our flight is way to early for most alternate transportation ie the water shuttles. So I was considering one of the hotels that offers free parking for your trip with a night's stay & then they shuttle you to the airport. Most seem to be in Revere or Chelsea, although there is the Hilton at the airport. Prices seem to be $100-$150 which is less than the limo wd cost. Anyone stay at any of these & if the shuttle only runs on the hour wd a 5am shuttle from these hotels get us to Logan in time fora 7am flight? Do we need 2 full hrs at that time of morning?

We just returned from an 8 day trip to Orlando and had no problems either way with travel to Logan. We left a day or two after the tunnel incident so we decided to give ourselves a little extra time to get there but as it turned out we didnt need it. All of the traffic was re-routed and it worked out fine both ways. Maybe 15 min. extra max each way but nothing significant. We left on a Saturday morning and returned Sunday evening via Delta. Good luck.

You can see the available hotels that offer the parksleepfly option here.

For the record, you would NOT need to go through Chelsea to get to the airport - even if the connector tunnel (which, if you're coming from Cape Cod, shouldn't affect you anyway) is still closed four months from now.

Alternate Routes ARRIVING TO Logan Airport
From the South:
Option 1: Follow I-93 North over Leonard Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge. Exit left at Exit 27, Route 1 North/Tobin Bridge. Cross Tobin and take first exit, Beacon Street/Chelsea Waterfront. Go straight off the Beacon Street ramp onto Chestnut Street. Take a right at the first set of lights onto Williams Street. Follow orange Logan Airport detour message boards and signs to access Logan Airport.
Option 2: Take I-93 North to Exit 23. Follow signs to Callahan Tunnel and Logan Airport.

I stay at Holiday Inn Logan. We've stayed there several times.

They include 10 days worth of parking for the one night stay. They are 5 minutes from Logan. Their shuttle runs every 15 - 20 minutes, 24 hours a day.

Many flight attendants and pilots take the shuttle with us so that makes me feel good.

I have no complaints.

The Hilton at the airport would be GREAT but they are VERY expensive.

Thanks for the info everyone. Still haven't decided what to do, may just wait awhile & see what happens with the tunnel repairs.

We booked through www.parksleepandfly.com. We will be staying at the Comfort Inn Boston.

They offer a 24 hr airport shuttle leaving every hour on the hour. We'll be staying 1 night and leaving our van for 15 days for $172.54 taxes/fees included.

Good luck! :thumbsup2

the Hilton at the airport is about 5-10 minutes from the drop off locations. I'm tno sure how often they run the shuttle or parking deals but have stayed there and the rooms are nice enough and has a great view of the boston skyline from the bar/restaurant...

I did contact several of the hotels. Believe it or not, the Hilton is already booked enough that only 4 days parking was available ( we need 7nts). Also checked the Embassy Suites but we might need to park a 2nd car & they want $30/day to park 2nd car!!! The Hampton Inn wd charge $75 for 10 days parking 2nd car & the Holiday Inn $12/day for 2nd car. This is ending up not to be a good deal after all.
