We are planning the 10/27/02 Wonder cruise. We able to take advantage the wonderful military rates that save us $$$$. We arrive back on 10/31/02. By the time we drive back to NC it will be too late for trick or treating for my 4 1/2 year old. We are thinking about going to DW for with 1 night (31st) or for the 3 day package. I know most people do the resort first and then the cruise but what about flip flopping them?

Maybe we shoudl just go on the 10/06/02 cruise can you tell I am confused......

Over the years my family has done it in every scenario you can imagine. Before - 4 day cruise, after - 7 day cruise (1 day) and this year 3 days before a 7 day. I look at it as a time to catch my breath.

We stayed overnight at WDW after our 4 night cruise and it was a good way to come down. Also, we drove, so it was hard to pass up the Magic Kingdom on the way home.

We're planning on a 3 night stay after our 7 day. DH thinks it'll be a great way to be able to pry me from the Magic!!!

One thing you can do for your 4 1/2 year old is go to Mickey's Halloween party. The kids get to dress up and it's just scary enough for the kids (it's all geared toward the kids) and they get to go trick or treating along with a whole bunch of other stuff like a costume parade.

On our big january trip where we normally do 2 weeks at WDW, last year we did a week at WDW, a week cruise and then a couple of days at WDW. We really enjoyed doing it this way because we got the bulk of our "running around" done in our week before the cruise, then we got to relax on the cruise. It was so sad leaving the boat that I really enjoyed having another night or two at WDW before going back to the "real world"... usually the last day or two of our wdw vacations are more low key anyway so we just saved the low key stuff (shopping etc) for the END of the cruise.

Given your scenario I would do 3 days before and then add just ONE night after.

We have done WDW before and after our cruises. If I had my choice I would always do WDW before. I don't know why - it just seems to work out better. But I would not choose to not go over going after!
