Park rule regarding "toy weapons" question

I got my little ones a $3 light saber from Target for our upcoming trip. It's like 18-24 inche long and lights up with sounds. Is this something they'll be able to have in the parks? Like to bring out at night instead of the expensive stuff Disney sells? Or are only light sabers purchased in the parks allowed?

I've seen some that I don't think are sold in the parks. best answer is they might say yes and they might say no. if you are not ok with either throwing it out or having to bring it back to the room or car then you should not bring it.

Pretty sure that Light Sabers are allowed in the parks.

I got these same ones for my kids for the same reason! Had planned to break them out while waiting for the Star Wars Fireworks, but will now have to settle for Jingle Bell instead. I assumed since they sell light sabers in the park they would be allowed?

Light Sabers are sold in the parks, so they are allowed. They do ask that you do not extend them in the parks (that's why they tape the top on the ones you buy there), but as far as I have seen that has never been enforced. They also sell the non-Star Wars light swords that do not collapse during nighttime events and such, so I'm not sure how those are any different than an extended Saber. I once saw an epic Jedi on Sith duel by two little kids waiting for Illuminations. It was awesome (though I did almost get taken out). I am 99% sure that a Light Saber type toy will be fine.

A Light Saber cannot really be confused for an actual weapon, which is the purpose of the restriction.

Some might say that a lightsaber is not as clumsy or as random as a blaster. An elegant weapon... for a more civilized age.
you can bring it in, it's fine
