Park plan--will this work, or is it wishful thinking?

This is my plan for our vacation. Do you all think this is too ambitious or is it possible that my plan will work out?

We are driving from GA so we'll have our own vehicle. Cast is me 30, dh 35, dd 7, dd 2 1/2.

From last year's experience at WDW we know that World Showcase is not a one day thing for our dd's. We'll have to break it up b/c they just didn't care for it and will only tolerate a few hours of it at a time. Just an FYI.

Day 1--arrive mid afternoon. Stay off site. Eat in DTD area.
Day 2--transfer to POP resort. Evening to Fort Wilderness for campground sing along, campfire, movie time.
Day 3--EMH at MK until noon-ish. Then to Epcot WS for rest of day.
Day 4--EMH at AK morning. MGM afternoon and evening.
Day 5--morning touring various resort Christmas decorations. Arrive at MK around 4 pm for MVMCP.
Day 6--EMH Epcot Future World in morning. MGM or Epcot WS rest of day.
Day 7--EMH MK morning. Epcot WS rest of day.
Day 8--hang out at resort before leaving to head home. :(

Is it possible to do all this or should we just do one park/day instead of hopping so much?

Also, with our own vehicle should we just plan to drive ourselves from the resort to the parks, and then from park to park? Or should we rely on WDW transportation to/from each park? I was thinking I'd read that from Epcot WS to MGM was pretty quick via boat but I may be wrong about that. Any insight?

Ya'll are wonderful helpers! Thanks so much! :earsgirl:

Edited to add that I realize we only have 1/2 day planned at AK. Our girls just want to do the Dinoland area and that's it so that's why we allowed only the one 1/2 day there. Also, MGM isn't a huge draw for us--only a few shows we want to see, so that won't need too much time. Mainly our interests lie in lots of MK and WS time.

We typically do 2 parks but we rest in between...not sure if that is in your plan or not...

1. I'd only plan on driving to AK. I prefer taking the bus to the other 3. MGM is also doable, since parking is close.

2. MGM has lots of kid friendly stuff. Try Millionaire your 7 yr old will love playing (they might even get in the hot seat)

3. You can walk or take a boat between MGM and WS. Walking can be faster. Probably 20 mins...but the boat is a nice rest.

You are very wise to plan your days out. WDW is the most magical place and I'm sure that your family is going to have the best time no matter what.

I do think having young children that you may not be spending enough time at MK. The mornings will go fast and you may find that you do not want to leave to head to Epcot. Also, besides MVMCP, when will you be at MK for fireworks.

We stayed at POP for our first night(travel day) then transfered to Ft.W cabins. It looks like you will have 5 days at the parks.

Our plans were for 7 days at the parks but here would be a good schedule to fit it all in..

Park Days-
Day 1 : MK - fun filled morning, counter lunch, back to resort for rest, dinner at CM and back to MK for parades and fireworks.
Day 2: MGM - not an early start(tired from MK night), but a great day, did and saw everything, early dinner and back to resort for swimming and good night rest
Day 3: We did a water park. You could do Epcot this day. Early morning do FW - kids should love it - Imagination, Living seas, I think your 7yr old would love TT. Then mid-day break to resort and head back to Epcot for the evening. Epcot at night is really fun. The kids could do the Kidcot stations at WS and it would make it fun for them.
Day 4: keep plans simple for the day time and then have a great evening at MK -MVMCP!
Day 5: AK - this is an awesome park. I really thing you little ones would really enjoy it. We spent the whole day there, lunch, parade, perfect day.

I just prefer hitting one park a day. I will be interested to see what other say about doing two parks a day.

We had our van with us and drove to the parks because we had 2 in strollers and it was easier to just head back to van rather than boarding buses.

You will love the Ft.W campfire/movie program. The is a tradition for us. The kids love it. Nothing better than smores and a movie on a perfect starry night.

We usually Park Hop - Morning in one Park, back to resort for rest, pool time, change for evening - then to a different Park for the late afternoon thru close. So I think your schedule looks fine.

I would encourage you to get the kids an Epcot Passport if you want to spend time in WS....that was what made my son fall in love with WS. We did spend an entire day in WS, from 11:00 am til close, doing the Passport- Kidcot stops.

What's an Epcot Passport? Free? Is it like a stamper book that the kids try to fill up by doing/going to certain sites? Do get them at Epcot or before?

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread, just sounds like something that would help my 7 year olds more enjoy WS.
