Park Pet Peeves

You do NOT have to pay the water bill at your hotel! It is included in your price for your room. Therefore, you may take a shower the night before or the morning of your time in the parks! Needless to say, Body Odor is my pet peeve :scared1: there is also this stuff call deodorant. Please use it so that when you stand in "my space", rub against me, or raise your arm to hold onto the rope while standing on the bus, I won't have to smell you :snooty:

Also, please wear proper attire! No one wants to see through your shirts ladies, And hopefully, no one wants to see anyone's crack!:rolleyes1

others:
flash photography; people who don't "move all the way down to the end of the row" when the CM has asked you to.(everyone can see from every spot); running over the back of my feet with your stroller and not saying I'm sorry; not everyone wants to be sprayed with one of those water bottle fans; I think that's about it for now;)

Believe it or not, I do have a fabulous time while at Disney World!:woohoo:

I'm having a little trouble with this one. To my knowledge a wheelchair will not get you front of the line anyplace unless it's MAW. So, the question is how does it get one to the front of the line when just about all, if not all, attractions are wheelchair and even "scooter" accessible?:confused3

Actually the only ride that I ever remember that had a special car for wheelchairs was World of Motion and that was a long, long time ago. Places like Universe of Energy has them but in this attraction front of the line, back of the line...all the same. Everyone goes together.

Some people have made some good points, We usually just ignore things that get our goat. We're there to enjoy ourselves so we don't let the little things bother us and just go on with our vacation.
:thumbsup2

This may be the best post yet!

Well, the stroller thing does drive me crazy, but it is hard to navigate DW sometimes. I just hate when someone is hitting me in the heals with their stroller in a crowd, thinking that will make it move. DUH!!

But, the worst is people who think that Disney is so magical, they can leave their sleeping baby in a covered stroller outside a ride by themselves!!! Yes, it does happen! I use to work at Disney and people all the time would say "well they are sleeping and we don't want to wake them, can we just leave them here to sleep, or over in stroller parking. The ride will only be 5 minutes right?" OMG people, I didn't know there were parents that bad out there. And to think the CMs are your personal baby sitter. I could just never do that. If you are afraid of missing something because your kid is sleeping... then 1) why are you a parent, and 2) why did you come to DW with kids!!

okay, enough ranting for now :confused3
This may be the worst thing I've heard. When my kids were real little and I'd be at the parkin lot of a grocery store, I would buckle the kids into their car seats and lock the doors while I returned the grocery cart 10 feet away. I cannot fathom that someone woul leave their child unattended like that. I'm not the most vocal person, but I'd def say something to those people.

Last year at Epcot, there was a woman who was reprimanding her child and my DW and I saw the whole evolution of the event as they were on the same bus as us. Another younger couple chastised the woman saying all types of nasty things and wasvery demeaning to her parenting style. I walked over and told the young woman to mind her own business and deal with her children as she sees fit. The mom who yelled at the child was so gracious to me you would have thought I had saved her from a runaway train.

I guess some times people are just CRAZY.

Not moving down all the way to the end of the row...."sweetie, I WILL step on you to get passed you"

Not giving up your seat on the bus to someone who clearly needs it....."Were you raised by wolves?"

screaming at your child in public. I dont care what junior did, I dont want to listen to your tyrade(sp) about how unappreciative he's being while you stuff your jaw with a turkey leg! (ok, that one might have been a specific incident,:lmao:)

i have to say i disagree when you say that NO ONE wants to see through ladies shirts

you might want to stay away from the water parks when the brazilian tour groups come in, you might have a heart attack lol

as for the bo thing, sure in the middle of the winter its a problem, in the summer time though nothing can really be done, when its 98 degrees and 90% humidity no deodorant in the world is going to keep that at bay very long.

I know, that 3 foot kid has a shot to see anything over 5' or 6' adults. Disney = kids. Get over it.

My pet peeve is people like you who don't understand kids.

Disney is for EVERYONE!

What drives me nuts is ...Driving an ECV while being cut off, walked into, and bumped constantly.

I'm sure people CAN see me.

:thumbsup2

First, I wouldn't touch the "shoulders" debate with a ten foot pole:rotfl:I totally see both sides. However, MY big pet peeve is when parents rent HEALTHY children a wheelchair (to act like a stroller???) and they get to go to the front of the line. We saw several last June where the kids would hop in and out. . .they were healthier than I'll ever be! I could care less if you want to push your 7, 8, 9 year old kids around in a "stroller", but unless there is a physical reason for a wheelchair, they qshould not be allowed to bypass the line!!! One the other hand, I was pushing my 87 year old grandmother and greatly apprecaited the service for the few rides she was able to go on!

My husband travels in an ECV, and we have never been escorted to the front of the line (or seen anyone who was.)

My NEW biggest pet peeve (although many posters have included my pet peeves in their lists) is wheeled bags in the parks. On our last trip we saw many wheeled backpacks, coolers, and carry on sized luggage being pulled around the parks. This is dangerous and CMs should put a stop to it. I did trip over one when the guy crossed right in front of me...fortunately only skinned knee and hands.

Flash photography on rides. I can deal with anything else, but flash photography on rides makes me want to cause a scene. Not that I ever would, of course . . ;).

For those of you in the "I'm putting my kid on my shoulders" camp, that's fine. But then respect me and back up when I make my way in front of you so I can see. I pay a good chunk of money - maybe more - than you did to be there, so I have just as much of a right to see everything as you. And your kid. If you want to allow kids to sit on shoulders and be respectful at the same time, stand against a wall or towards the back/side of crowd.

Yep...I only put my 3 year old on my shoulder during a parade once and I was standing all the way in the back. I couldn't see squat (I'm only 5'6) but my DD got to see the character's float and there was no one's view blocked b\c of it.

1)I know I am slow moving LOL, but both a man and maniac stroller moms in such a rush stepping on me and giving a half apology when they are not paying attention and in such a rush when you are on vacation and there are crowds, be respectful.
2)ECV (not that I have a problem with those that use) but not sitting in there ECV on the bus and take another bus space for a pregnant woman, elderly person, or child.
3)Parents going on a tirade towards a young child (one time a parent dragged a child in a stroller in a bathroom where they are not allowed and caused a complete scene towards an innocent 3 year old child)
4)I think poor manners in generally, WDW can be exhausting, hot, full of crowds, yes some people want to stop and smell the roses, let them, just being courteous and being human not everyone there is a DiSer or expert WDW seeker. Be kind. :cool1:

Well, HELLO. I think we may have been separated at birth. :rotfl: Flash photography on a ride is better than a half hour on an exercise bike for getting my blood pressure up. And you're just wasting your breath by trying to tell them that the photos won't look any good.... deep breath, ohmmmmm.

:worship::worship::worship: Yes yes yes this irks me like you wouldn't believe I always think "seriously seriously are you that selfish, self centered, impatient, and rude that your going to take advantage of benefits that disabled children are given" to me it's just so twisted and sick.
As for my list
1.see above
2. people who think the the (disney)world revolves around them. Like how dare you tell me I have to wait 50 minutes to ride Dumbo or what do you mean there's no available seating here or how dare you not pick my child for the festival of the lion king I thought this was supposed to be the happiest place on earth
3. Loud annoying HUGE groups of people who will just not shut up
4.People who constantly point things out like "johnny did you see that pirate" or "look look its Jack Sparrow"or "here we go here we go here we go ahhhhhhh wasn't that drop fun
5.people who snap at CMs it just makes me so sad:sad2:
6.when people are walking walking walking then all of a sudden without warning, they stop to look at a map or take a picture
7.people who take 15 minutes to order something at CS and get annoyed when the CM tries to hurry them up
8.i think thats pretty much it thank you for your time:lmao:

While we're at it I just thought of like 3 more:rotfl2:
1. people who don't give seating to those who NEED it (ex: we were on a packed monorail and my family was standing up and go figure the people seated were all teenagers (granted I am one but i'm the rare angel:littleangel:)
well this women who looked like she could give birth at any second. She got on......not one teenager moved then thankfully the single girl in the group(of course) got up.) I mean seriously are you that inconsiderate
2. people who were clothes like a (i don't know how to put this nicely)like one time there was this girl whose shorts were so short we could see her butcheek(which tells me waaaaaaaaay more than I want to know) I mean seriously this is a family park.
3. line cutters(ok i know some kids can't hold their urine so they have to go but when a group of teenagers or adults show up you know somethings up)

1)I know I am slow moving LOL, but both a man and maniac stroller moms in such a rush stepping on me and giving a half apology when they are not paying attention and in such a rush when you are on vacation and there are crowds, be respectful.

In regards to #2 the drivers prefer for your safety to move to a seat. The three wheeled ones actually tip over quite easily. Back in 2003 I went with my aunt who decided to sit on one. The first turn and nearly flipped over. After that she no longer insisted on sitting on the eco anymore.

I will add another one, people who think their kids are more important than anyone else around them by putting them on their shoulders so adults can't see. I am there to watch the show just like everyone else. I paid my money, I waited for the show to get a good spot, Disney isn't just for kids, it is for all of us.

Yeah, Disney is for everyone. I get that, but Disney = Kids. Walt Disney created Disneyland as a different kind of park FOR kids and for their parents to take them. We all paid good money to be there, and my 2 and 5 year olds that CAN'T see over everyone ARE going to get lifted up. Clearly those that don't have kids, have never held a kid in their arms for an extended period. You're arms get tired. Shoulders is an easy way to keep from getting tired out, and keep the kid with a view. Sorry you don't like it, you can move left or right easier than my kids. I will gladly switch places with anyone I might be blocking, but Disney crams everyone in like Sardines.

I only put them on my shoulders for fireworks. The parades, we get there early so they can sit on the curb and watch.

Everyone is going to have a problem with others, and that's life. I only get annoyed when people do things to be rude, and most aren't doing that to BE rude. It's just the way you perceive it.

The flash photography and cell phone lights are a big one for me too.

The most annoying thing that I noticed on my most recent trip though was the couple that was feeding the birds at a table on the Boardwalk. We were sitting at the next table and I thought that the gulls were going to take off with our food too. :confused3

1. People not smoking in the designated smoking areas. It happens more during F&W.

2. Getting hit in the ankles/legs with a stroller. Always have bruises after a trip to WDW.

3. People pushing ahead in a line. Really annoying when waiting patiently for your turn.

4. flash photography!

5. cell phones, cell phones, cell phones!

6. kids taking seats on buses when older people need a seat. They can sit on a parents lap...imo. The kids, not the older folks. : )

Walt created Disneyland as a place where families could go to do stuff together. He came up with the idea when he was stuck sitting on a park bench while his girls were on the carousel. It's not a "kids place" for parents to take them to. It's a place FOR everyone...not just for kids.

END OF STORY.
